The shutout by the Expos ran their string of consecutive scoreless innings pitched to 39. The streak was snapped the next day at 41 innings, giving the Expos the NL's second longest streak in the divisional era. The record (in the divisional era) of 42 innings is held by the 1969 New York Mets. The all-time NL /AL record is 56 innings by the 1903 Pittsburgh Pirates.
