Playing something exceptionally fast simply because you CAN does not impress. The end of the Durufle was a frantic, jumbled rush fed by a misplaced need to dazzle, and he wasn't the only composer subjected to this abuse.

The organ is capable of producing more than just unrefined , unrelenting noise. Such a pity that organists seem so reluctant to realise this when in comes to playing Bach's non liturgical organ works.
