The majority of Americans don't care about human rights in the 'free' population: the idea that they're being violated in jails and prisons is of miniscule concern. But it points to something awful in our 'Democracy', too, aka the big picture. All his over cases should be reviewed. It's not just incompetence but wilful dereliction of duty. There was no evidence linking the student to the crime, the student had a bone fide alibi and the injured party gave a different description of the assailant. Man, Fulton County Criminal judicial services are soooo backed up. The Feds just released a report about the conditions inside the jail and the treatment in detainees. There were massive amounts of civil rights violations. Lack of basic sanitation, not having enough mattresses to put on the floor to accommodate excess detainees. People are having to sleep on the bare floor. You should definitely peruse the report. I live outside of Atlanta, and I pray a silent prayer every time that I have to drive through Atlanta, that I don't get arrested and detained in the jail. It's horribly dangerous and people have died there, and those deaths had nothing to do with violence. Extremely poor living conditions and a complete lack of concern from jail staff to appropriately care for the detainees.

Lock him up! What kind of detective is this? I’m seriously starting to believe that police officers and detectives should be required to have advanced degrees. If you’re making these kinds of poor decisions and then lying on top of it, you shouldn’t have the privilege of being a detective-or even a police officer.
