For sure. Donald seems to get all the credit, and granted he deserves a ton of credit, but he gets his results by collaborating with some very talented people like Hiro, Ludwig Göransson and others. The art of collaborating is an art in itself.

Actually a lot of the episodes are written by his brother. Having the privilege of money and opportunity makes it 'easy' to create other opportunities and collab. And people..the masses always need ONE face/person to adore or idolize..since people dont really tend to like 'complexity'.

He's okay. The writing is what makes the show excellence. And the subject matter is never explored. It gets into the root of the black experience. Hiro couldn't tap that deep without the creative collaboration. I will admit his directing of this episode was superb, but the other episodes of Atlanta are meat and potatoes on content not direction.

Atlanta gives me hope that compelling art can still come out of the American film industry. When you can afford to take risks, when you care about communicating something real, making people feel the way you do, you can truly create something legendary.

For me it was summer, I had the apartment dark and cold. I had to get out after for a car ride and get some sun light and processes what I had just watched. I was kind of in a shock like state, and I actually love horror movies but this episode was something else.

I remember watching this with my wife and just being blown away with how left the show went. This episode really showed how talented and diverse the cast is. I didn’t even realize Donald Glover was Teddy until about halfway into it. Has this episode won any awards? It deserves it.

I never would have thought there were so many techniques in film... I'd love to see a program where directors actually interpret the techniques used in older films... what is intentional, or accidental? what would amplify the desired impact on the audience? how does scoring play into these techniques? really cool stuff!👍🏿
