I first saw Charlie Brown when I was 19 years old in August 1996 at the College of Charleston. He was always so kind to me, and we also had a drink together during my spring break in 1997. He was so loving and giving to our community. He also raised a lot of funds to help support PWA/HIV, people who needed housing, and anything to bring people together. I am grateful for the impact he made in my life, especially in my story of coming out as gay from the South. Love you so much!!! 🏳️🌈🙏🏾❤️🙏🏾🏳️🌈

Mr. Charlie Brown is Rolling on the River with Mrs. Tina Turner now. You were always so entertaining and made every trip to Backstreet a memorable one. The way you flirted with the straight boys and gave the straight girls hell was always the highlight of being in the audience. Thank you for the memories. ❤

I first saw Charlie Brown in 1984 in Macon,Georgia. I was 19 years old and his performance was amazing! I later saw him with Lily White at Topaz in Macon. Again I was struck by the professionalism he exhibited as an entertainer. I went to his own venue,Backstreet, several times and had a blast every time. He had a show that he performed at The Cherry Street Pub in Macon where I was part of The Blister Sisters cast . We gladly surrendered our dressing room to him on Thursday nights that he was there. The club was only about 5 months old so we were honored to have a legendary performer performer grace our stage. I was even more honored when he invited me to perform at Backstreet some time. I regret to this day not taking him up on his offer. He was an Icon in Atlanta but to us small town performers he was EVERYTHING! Thank you,Mr. Charlie Brown. Thank you for the impact you had on this queen and the "Big City" vibe you brought to Macon,Georgia. Fly high

🏳🌈Just remember that God puts blessings Infront of us! I have learned that sometimes! We have to let our pride down to receive blessing! I also wish you had done so on the offer! Charlie knows your in his heart! Fyi! I did ignore signs of my blessings! If I had stayed in California! I would be married, kids, wealthy, with my first experience with David coming out of the closet at 21 years old! I am 63, alone, under Dr's care for several mental & physical disabilities! I chose to rekindle with my family! What a mistake that was! And left David after 10 years and owning a Pet store & Limousine service with David! I realize now! Our relationship was based on other's well being! example! Helping employees with their bills, etc. My point is now! I never had really time to realize how much I am in love with David till now! We were to busy taking care of other's as Charlie Brown did! I hope that made sense! 💋 💋 🏳🌈📿💄💍👗👘🥻🩱🪅👄👁💅

Mr. Charlie Brown was a huge part of my coming out and having fun in the mid-'90s. Not just a fantastic female impersonator & performer, he was a truly gifted & quick-witted comedian. It seems wrong that he never had his own no-holds-barred talk show on a major cable network. Yes, he was THAT funny and THAT capable - a honed talent and a gem of a human being. It's old news now, but the first time I saw him do "The Pussycat Song" at Backstreet - complete with custom modulations & effects - I nearly pissed myself laughing. #SORE!

I am devastated. Years ago, I met Charlie Brown and discovered that the "B*tch of the South" had a heart of pure gold - unless you crossed him. His work for the people with AIDS in the early days of that epidemic proved it. You may be gone, but you'll NEVER be forgotten.

Yes I imagined, composed and wrote lyrics. 5 days of tears and the higher power behind my ears and it was done. The same thing happened with all the other entertainers that have passed on.

I will never forget seeing Mr. Charlie Brown’s show at “Backstreet” in the late 1990’s. After the show, I met him, out of drag, while he was sitting at one of bars there at “Backstreet,” talking to someone, and I was able to speak to him, briefly. I’ll never forget his warm and gracious personality. I'm in Virginia, but had tried to follow his career, over the years, so I just heard of his passing, about a week ago, and I was just shocked, and very saddened. A one of a kind personality, and entertainer, I’ll never forget him !!
