@Sold Not Told P So theoretically, Frank Reich is the GOAT?
@lucasbenjaminlasterbennett52654 жыл бұрын
@Sold Not Told P First of all, I STRONGLY believe that Joe Montana is the G.O.A.T. No, I'm NOT a 49ers fan before you ask. Second, if GOATS were based on NFL's largest comebacks, it would be Frank Reich, who orchestrated the biggest comeback in pro football history in a 32 point comeback and 41-38 win in OT. Third, on December 7, 1980 Joe Montana led back a 28 point comeback against the Saints. So, I think somehow Reich is in the conversation for GOATS I guess?

Touchdown to make it 28-20, a look of concern. Down on the field with wifey, Patriots tie it up and he's got that look of shock and loss. The several stages of Blank...love it.

I never laughed. I felt heartbreak for the Falcons fans that night. They never made it back, their window of opportunity closed, and that's all she wrote. I'm a Steelers fan, so I've experienced the joy of winning the SB twice, and the heartbreak when we lost to Green Bay. So, watching a fanbase who've never experienced it lose it like that... to a team and fanbase that's won plenty of times... that's just too harsh for me to laugh at. Just saying.

@@jrod66ify You live by the pass you die by the pass. Ask the Seahawks two years prior. The modern NFL doesn't understand why running the ball can be just as good as passing. Falcons had 3rd and 1 in the 4th. Could've run it, set up a first down, get in FG range, possibly another TD AND the clock is rolling. But no, let's take a LOOOOOONG dropback pass, get sacked and fumble the ball away. These coaches outcoach themselves. I told everyone watching with me when it was 28-9 that the Patriots would come back to tie it and they'd go into overtime at 31-31. I was a little off as 28-28 was the tie score ;), but I felt like the momentum had changed. The adjustments had been made. Shit coaching by Atlanta. Biggest choke of all time.

Im a Pats fan but the win over sea hawks, was no way as bad as this. I will admit that the interception was a lucky one, this was game was dead the moment the Falcons owner came down to celebrate way before the game was over, just like that player who said, oh we gonna put 40 on them. To be honest Atlanta beat Atlanta with the help of the New England Patriots.

I watched that game with my best friend, Chuck. He was a life-long Georgia boy. University of Georgia, Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Hawks, and Atlanta Falcons. Unlike most people around here, he wasn't a fairweather fan. He proudly wore their gear even when they only won a single game. In September, at the start of the season, Chuck was diagnosed with a rare form of genetic Pancreatic cancer in stage 4. Coincidentally, his wife of over 20 years left him the day before that because she was bored with him always watching sports. He was a good husband and father. He worked at the same place from 14 years old until he died at only 53. Loyal to a fault, even after his wife cheated. His life was destroyed in just 2 days. So this was his last year on earth and I was so pumped, screaming for Atlanta in his living room as if they were my team. I wasn't optimistic going into it, but Atlanta came in hot, dominating the Pats like gods. I thought it was meant to be. At half time, Chuck looked depressed. I couldn't belive he wasn't bouncing off the walls. I asked him why he wasn't thrilled. He shook his head and said that Atlanta had lost 3 games that year after being up huge at halftime. He said they were probably already partying in the locker room, then they'd come out flat in the 2nd half. "And that's Tom Brady on the other side." He knew hos sports. He never said a word until NE tied it. Then he said, "See?" When it was over, he went to his room. He died that June, never seeing his beloved Falcons bring one home. Ive taken momentos of the Braves and Bulldogs wins and Freddy Freeman's MVP to his grave. I want my Niners to win every game, but I'd love to glue a big Super Bowl pin on that headstone one day.

Indeed, but the Warriors got better and won it next year. Falcons are watching at home and will be for a decade. Teams that lose to the Patriots in the SB seem to have their hearts ripped out of them. Look at the Rams, nothing since. The Panthers, nothing since. The Eagles, took them almost 15 years to get back and the Patriots are in their way again. The Seahawks haven't looked anything like the dominant team they were during their back to back Super Bowl trips and rumors persist that they will soon be blown up.
