First time I learned how injuries could affect a season was when I saw how my team did without Michael Vick in 2003. We went 2-10 without him, but then went 3-1 once he came back. So yeah, injuries can be good news for opposing teams. Of course, that doesn’t mean I was hoping for the Commanders to have an injury bug going around. Really, I’m just more hopeful for my team now that Penix is our starter going forward. Could we totally blow it tonight and miss the playoffs? Sure! But to even have that flicker of new hope after all seemed lost is worth getting invested into football for.
