Martin Luther King did put Atlanta on the map during the Civil Rights movement, and he's also a pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church. He's the reason why Atlanta is the "BLACK MECCA". Other black leaders made the city of Atlanta what it is today from Ambassador Andrew Young to Congressman John Lewis to our current mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms.

Aerial Atlanta? Half the video is spent on Auburn and the King Center. No Midtown, no Buckhead. Who got paid for this junk? Clearly made by someone for NYC or LA who cares nothing about understanding the city or informing others. I would expect more from Smithsonian (for some reason).

lol what!? That's Martin Luther King's tomb? How pathetic and insulting, you would expect a great building or cathedral to be this man's final resting place. He's just outside in the fucking open? Atlanta truly is pathetic and disappointing in every aspect.

That would be something Dr. King would likely abhore. His body was carried thru the streets in a wooden cart drawn by mules. Getting it yet?

The King center def needs more funding and a more organized staff to operate the day to day. Very popular attraction but needs work on a financial aspect.

He wasn't a god. A great man, yes, but we shouldn't glorify him as a god by building some jaw dropping tomb in his honor. Also MLK was a southern Baptist, not a Catholic. If you've ever been to new orleans or Atlanta you would know that most great figures are honored by receiving above ground tombs in new Orleans St.Louis cemetery or Atlanta's Oakland cemetery. By giving MLK his own resting and burial site shows how much he meant to the south because not a lot of black ppl are honored in that way. I personally prefer the reflecting pool because it is humbling and it's also a symbol of baptism.
