I was in the mood for Morten Lauridsen this afternoon and came across the Atlanta Master Chorale's recording. I've sung it, I've heard it done by so many choral groups - some good, some not so good, but by far this is the very best.

This piece so beautifully sung is a powerful interpretation of the glory of an almighty suffering and living God given to us in the God-Man Jesus the Christ.

Where is this performance taking place? The acoustics are fantastic! And the Atlanta Master Chorale is awesome and so magnificent! I think I could listen to them forever! The intonation and diction are perfection!

Frank Crow Thank you so much for your kind comments! We perform (primarily) in Emerson Hall, Schwartz Center for Performing Arts at Emory University. It's a fantastic space to perform and call home!

Does the Atlanta Master Chorale ever tour? How long as the Chorale been in existence? I am assuming that the singers are all auditioned. Is there a maximum number is the number of singers flexible? As a former member of a boys choir as well as a college men's glee club and a college concert choir, I am always looking for really outstanding choral ensembles, and I am extremely impressed by the Atlanta Master Chorale in every way. There should be more perfoming groups like it throughout the country.

We don't usually tour, but we have various run-out concerts every now and then. We most recently sang in Charlotte, NC, for the American Guild of Organists' Charlotte chapter, and back in March we performed at National ACDA in Minneapolis, MN. The chorale has been going on (in various forms and under different names) since 1985. In the past several years we've had as many as 64 singers, but we usually stay around 50. Check us out online (AtlantaMasterChorale.org) and thanks for your comments!
