Atlanta is a very hard ship to master. Its low HP and weak armour easily gets citadel from enemy ships. Moreover the range of the guns are considered short compared to other cruisers of the same tier. Oh ya one more thing, the guns on Atlanta easily gets taken off by enemy and make it unusable. But if you managed to master it like hiding behind island, its guns short reload time can burn the hell out of any ship and take aways the entire HP of that ship.

@@ainzooalgown7589 Yes. 11km range is really horrible even when fighting against the same tier. It's time for @wargaming to bump up the ships characteristic and also increase the firing range to perhaps 14km .

Having a short range gives one significant benefit such that you won’t get spotted from flanks by random ships easily, which is crucial considered she has a very small HP pool. I personally is fine with taking other utility skill instead of the range skill, but it does require very delicate positioning to be effective.

@@aquilazyy1125 if Atlanta is given smoke generator then its quite playable but the problem is there's no smoke generator. Meaning to say you can only hit enemy ships if you get behind island. If you can't get behind any island and throws those shells out then you are as good as dead.

Atlanta's firing range has been nerfed with the new update. It just does 11km unlike 13km over here

As far as I know, it's 11km all this time. Owned the ship since the early days of World Of Warship and the firing range has been 11km all this time. Considering a weak citadel, 11km firing range makes this ship a sitting duck when come across any long range cruiser or bb.

127mm can pen superstructure but... if you want pen hulldeck(CL CA) you need take IFHE
