It’s commonly understood that most long term jail habitants leave as immature as they entered jail (mentally). That said, I’m not completely surprised that the guy is mentally close to the 18/19 year old’s level. He cannot do anything for most women his age. In the 1st interview he called her a “little baby” , but when it comes to talks of their romance he then says she’s grown. She’s not. To say she has the same mental function and reasoning as an full grown adult is dangerous, especially with her mental health condition. She’s young and legal, but she very clearly communicates in an even younger way. She needs help not a romantic partner or boyfriend. I understand she’s beautiful and vulnerable , but she can be helped with out having to become romantically involved with someone. That’s even more important for her to learn considering she was kidnapped only weeks before meeting this guy. I don’t think he is a bad guy at all, just not fully there either. And it’s not altruism. I don’t think he would intentionally hurt her , but this dynamic is not healthy. Be helpful without trying to be romantic partners.

And speaking from experience when you're dealing with a young adult with mental illness you have to come at it as a family as a group it took us coming at my brother's mental illness as a family getting in proper paperwork making sure that he became awared of my mother's and that he had it in his files that he had schizophrenic bipolar Tendencies and was on medication for those mental illnesses so therefore our local cops know exactly who he is and what he suffers from he ran away in the last year that my father was on this Earth in 2017 which made the local news the whole Sheriff's Department was out looking for him I call him a gentle giant because he's 6 ft 3 wear size 15 shoe and wouldn't hurt a fly he was one street over in the cow pasture where he had spent the night and got pneumonia those two days that he was missing felt like forever so this grown man is going to have to save himself let her family give her the correct treatment that she may need that he is unaware of!
