Hi Jeff, headed to Atlantic City this Thursday, so doing what I do before every trip and watching all of my favorite videos from you. Funny thing, when I ordered a bacon cheeseburger from this place they also forgot the bacon. Wondering if they really even have bacon back there, or if it was just a misprint on the menu? Very good video Showboat they should be ashamed of them self I am sorry for your experience at the showboat burger restaurant the only thing I like about the showboat is there hotel room and there pool because the hotel room is super luxury and the pool is amazing it’s super big they give you free ice coffe by the pool free water by the pool and I can’t wait for there water park that is opening in summer 2023 that going to explode the Atlantic City 😂

I'm glad something is being done with the Showboat instead of letting it rot like The Altantic Club. Personally, I liked the Showboat when it was in it's prime as it was a beautiful bright casino, had nice rooms, good restaurants, and a wonderful buffet. I wish it was still like that, but hey, I'm just happy something is being done with it!! I wish it lots of luck !!!

Was in AC today (FRI) Hard Rock,Ocean Resort,Borgata, and Harrahs Brickers used to be Johnny Rockets closed when the Showboat closed the doors ate in there maybe 2 years ago the chicken sandwich tasted pretty much the same as one i would take out of the freezer at home i havent been back there yes the fees make no sense i noticed that a lot down there.

Thanks Jeff, good video. One of the other tricks some restaurants are doing is charging a 3% fee for using a credit card. If it’s not disclosed on the menu, or mentioned by your server when the meal is ordered, it is illegal in NJ. Maybe you can check out Pic a Lilli Pub for some wings or tails (tenders).

@@NuYawk we're not supposed to have red meat, so I have my hamburger with ketchup and a slice of raw onion. You can taste the meat. All this lettuce, tomato, cheese, pickle, fried onions, etc, it's becoming just a mess and the red meat gets lost and I'm often irritated with the hamburger. Restaurants should offer grilled vegetables or roasted vegetables instead of fries for people like me who are trying.

There are two Walgreens in AC, they sell snacks but you can only buy alcohol at a liquor store.

I went to ACE one time, it was over priced, the food was bland, and it took 25 minutes to get my food. I don't remember if they charged me the extra fees. Never buy any food or drink at Showboat, because it is over priced with long waits, and not that good.

I really hope they do open up a nicer sit down restaurant in the near future in the main area before the waterpark opens. They have a TON of open space on that property (the entire 2nd floor is closed with the exception of the Bourbon Room for special events.), Put in a nice restaurant up there towards the front, blow out the front of the building and make it all glass to see the ocean.

I can't fault you at all for being bent out of shape over the covert theft of your $2 (I seem to recall someone going fully mental over that amount in a movie once). I wonder if they truly realize how many customers they're putting off permanently with that nonsense. Also, I still can't believe the Showboat is an arcade now. The Showboat was the first casino I ever stayed at in AC, a hundred years ago. I loved the Nawlins feel of the place. Like it was debauchery incarnate. That "Showboat fee" of $1.00 is an unjustified cash grab, the food place is not even inside the Showboat, it's on the sidewalk. I'm pretty sure they are violating NJ consumer laws with those hidden fees. The tomato slice looked really pale. The burger you had the the Yard looked more delicious (but they did not give lettuce & tomato). That looks like a fun go cart track. Another great food review video.

I'm in NY, and when Covid hit, diners in NY stopped giving us free coffee with our 2 eggs, bacon, toast, and homefries in the morning. They're still charging us separate, and that stops me from going back. That 2 egg breakfast deal is over $10 now. I really want to have to go rather than 'let's have fun.'

First of all I wouldn't have even bothered to wait that long on that line because I don't have much patience. I would've just left and either walked all the way down to Johnny Rockets depending how hungry I am if I felt like it or just grab some food closer by at Hard Rock. Burgers and Hops in the Hard Rock food court has some pretty decent burgers and fries and at least you can sit indoors. I also don't recall them adding surprise fees. It's not right how some places love to nickle and dime people with these ridiculous fees. Sorry but the food didn't look all that appetizing either. I won't ever be trying this place.

A Showboat fee and a To-Go Fee? Are you freaking kidding me? I've heard of different pricing for Dine-In compared to To-Go and "Service Fees" for casinos, but not together. I would have argued that especially if it's not listed anywhere on the menu. You probably could have gotten something better across at Steel Pier. Showboat needs to take care of that, they have such a good thing going on at revitalizing the property and you have that place right there at the entrance pulling that stunt, give me a break.

The go carts are not fun. They are twice the price of the other place on the AC boardwalk, and they stop the entire go karts every minute or 2. If one person is driving too fast, or bumps and other car, or violates a rule, they stop the entire raceway with the push of a button. What happens is they end up stopping you every minute or 2 because someone else violated a rule. Go to central pier go karts. Its half the price, and they don't stop the entire raceway every 2 minutes.

The government needs to enforce a truth in advertising law. If they advertise the food at certain prices, you need to pay those prices. This is the same as resort fees, which allow them to advertise a low price, then when you get the bill they add on extra fees and you pay a much higher price. By the time most people realize they have resort fees, they are checking out, and it is too late.
