Normally from Waterloo, but on this occasion Victoria, to Exeter and back via a different route. The train was hauled by Merchant Navy Class no 35028 Clan Line.
As one of three steam specials out of Victoria that day we also caught a glimpse of A4 Class no 60009 Union Of South Africa. Dirty, with flaking paint, the poor Streak looked like she's limping towards her retirement as an exhibit on a farm. Not so Clan Line, for so long the flag bearer of the southern region, who was immaculately turned out and turned in a fantastic performance on the train as well.
And yes - I know I got the date wrong on the video caption!
