I lived in Houston until my late 20's. I no longer live there. I miss the live entertainment. I used to sing at a Mex food restr on Fondren called "Leo's", I had many gigs in Houston, but never played Rockefeller's. This is the SONG. I love when groups get the crossover appeal with pop songs and they get that national recognition BUT with some groups they 4get their soulful/funk roots. Always and Secret Lovers are ok but Send 4 Me, When Love Calls, and Circles are true Quiet Storm jams. Atlantic Starr NEVER 4 got these songs but the labels wanted them to keep cranking out pop music.

I messed up, the restaurant was on Shepherd, between Westheimer and San Felipe....to the best of my remembrance. We also used to go to a place in an area that was called Montrose, a great jazz club was over there too. Good bands were easy to be found in the 80's, especially R&B copy bands that did this genre of music.
