Welcome back to Atlanta! I sent you a message on IG (via your story). Would love to show you around Atlanta. There are so many amazing places to see and experience all around the metro. Also, Typically on NYE stores close early, many people attend Christmas Eve Services, or stay indoors and spend time with family and friends. On Christmas day, most places are closed. As far as tree lighting, there are many Christmas tree lightings instead of just one. People usually will go to the one thats nearest to them or in one of their favorite downtown areas or entertainment hubs. Most suburbs in Atlanta have their own downtown area and/or shopping/entertainment hub. They are all unique and represent the vibe of that suburb or Atlanta neighborhood. Atlantic Station is in the Midtown neighborhood of Atlanta.

Atlantic Station is not the biggest shopping area in Atlanta. People like me love to go there to vibe, eat at the restaurants and for entertainment but you will find far more stores and shopping at Lenox Square, Perimeter Mall, Avalon or some of the other malls. One very big reason you don’t see as many people shopping as you used to is Amazon and other online shopping. Alot of gifts are ordered online at home and delivered right to people’s doorstep.

@african tigress, every State in the US is different, so you shouldn’t be saying America is a certain way, you generalize too much. Each State is so different, and everyone definitely does not have a car in the US. In places like Georgia, a lot of people have vehicles because public transportation is not as accessible like cities like NY, Chicago, DC. In these cities, many people take public transportation and don’t even own vehicles. And even if you own a vehicle in NY, many of us don’t drive into the city, because there is too much traffic and limited parking. The tree in NY is at Rockefeller Center not Madison Sq Garden. In terms of shopping, many people shopped on-line. I bought everything on-line this Christmas. Also, the conductor does not drive the train. Just some tidbits to clarify some things you said.

African Tigress. You are right about Wells Fargo. It started as a money transport and security company back in the American Old West. They used to have armed stage coaches that would transport gold from California to banks all over America. They also operate a very popular armored truck business. It wasn't until fairly recent that they became very popular in personal banking as well.

No, we will never boycott Christmas. We love Christmas (most). Although a lot of people in the U.S. drive, many in urban cities like New York City, DC, Chicago etc., walk, jog or take the bus & subway. Many in the City give up their car in lieu of public transportation or walking when we can.Visit the Rockefeller Christmas tree in NYC when you get an opportunity.

I love Atlantic Station. It opened in 2005 and I had a small part in getting it built. I've been to the Vivo store there. But believe me. Atlantic Station is not the liveliest part of Atlanta. That would be the East Beltline from Ponce City Market all the way up to Krog Street Market. Trust me. That is where everybody in Atlanta hangs out now. Especially on a nice day. I would recommend making that walk from PCM to KSM on the Beltline or you can rent an e bike or scooter and ride it.

First, let’s talk about comparisons-I always compare! It’s something I do in every country I visit, not just America. I point out the similarities and differences for perspective. For instance, collard greens here remind me of sukuma wiki back home, and I absolutely love that connection. I enjoy oxtail, salmon, and collard greens in the U.S., though I’m not the biggest fan of cake and pizza. Sharing these details isn’t nitpicking-it’s exploring culture through everyday life. As for complaining, I do try to keep it real. If something doesn’t work or feels off, I mention it because that’s part of the experience. But my intent is never to focus solely on negatives-every country, including America, has its pros and cons. Lastly, I’m not looking for a home in America. My content is about exploring, learning, and sharing honest experiences. I hope that clears things up and gives you a better understanding of my perspective. Mind mentioning anything I complained about in this episode?
@AFRICANTIGRESS
@AFRICANTIGRESS 29 күн бұрын
I think you might misunderstand where I’m coming from. Some people expect me to be flabbergasted just by being in America, but that’s not my reality. I’ve traveled to over 60 countries, and at this point, very little shocks or excites me like it used to. This isn’t my first, second, or even third time here. I’ve been to the U.S. before, long before I was a KZbinr-back when I had nothing and was just a student. Even back then, people were shocked that I didn’t try to stay and “look for papers.” But I made the choice to leave, even when my circumstances were tough. If I didn’t stay then, why would I stay now? I get that you might feel I’m comparing America to other places, but I’m not doing it to criticize. It’s about providing perspective. A lot of people who watch me have never been to the countries I’ve visited, or even to America, for that matter. My experiences help paint a broader picture of the world, so viewers can see beyond where they are now. It’s not about saying one place is better than another-it’s about showing the diversity of opportunities, challenges, and lifestyles out there. To be clear, I respect and appreciate America. It has provided incredible opportunities for my friends and family, and I’ve made some amazing friends here too. I don’t understand how someone born and raised in the U.S. could completely hate it-unless they haven’t experienced life and its challenges in other countries. There’s a privilege in being here that might not always be obvious if it’s all you’ve known. That said, America isn’t where I see myself living . It’s not about dislike or jealousy; it simply doesn’t align with my goals or aspirations in life. And that’s okay. Just like how Kenya, Europe, or Australia might not suit your goals, we each have different paths. As for visiting, I think it’s wonderful to explore the world and experience different cultures. America is a place I’ll always be able to visit when I want, but living here just isn’t part of my vision. By the way, you mentioned "Nick picking," and I’m not entirely sure what it means-it must be American English /slang. Either way, I hope this clarifies my perspective.

@@sarahcovintong1699you need to work on your unconscious biases. You were watching carefully for anything that you deemed "negativity" to validate your biases toward "they" that you keep mentioning which I assume are "Africans". You are projecting your feelings toward a group of people that you implied should be grateful at all costs for setting foot in America correct? Be grateful for setting foot in America?” Did America purchase my ticket or pay for my accommodation? This is exactly the kind of energy some of you give, but then you complain when Africans gravitate to other races. You claim to love Africa and Africans, yet your words and actions are divisive. This platform is not the place for that. You’re quick to judge based on your own prejudices. If I were white, you wouldn’t have said any of this. It’s the double standards for me. Have you seen the disrespectful videos some American travel creators make in other countries? Do you call them out on it the same way? I don’t need this kind of negative, divisive energy here. If you don’t like my content, just move on. Simple as that.
