ATLANTIS GOT CANCELLED?!?!?

I rant about my thoughts on the BBC show Atlantis, why I think cancelling it was a bad decision and why I ship Pythacarus
Also i'm sorry for the terrible lighting i'm too poor to buy any sort of lighting and natural daylight is clearly awful for vlogging

I’m annoyed about this too. They cancelled The Musketeers too. But at least they got an ending and not a cliff hanger. Not only that, I also remember there were a few episodes on of Atlantis, and then had to wait around 4 months for the rest of the episodes to be shown, because they decided to put The Voice on. Like...WHY??!

(haha I'm here 2 years later lmao) But what was amazing about Pythagoras was that it was near the end of s2 when we found out he was gay. Meaning the audience had time to love him, get to know him, sympathise with him. Being gay wasn't his main character trait. He was loyal, nervous, intelligent, kind...... And oh yea, he's gay too. The fact that the relationship wasn't questioned was pretty normal given it was set in ancient greece but still, a gay couple in a family/kid's show that is portrayed as normal and no different to other couples? It got cancelled because (as far as I know) it was between this and The Musketeers (despite The Musketeers having lower ratings and frankly, despite how much I loved s1+2 of the Musketeers, s3 was awful and Atlantis should have gotten that spot instead). The premise for season 3 was brilliant and the show was clearly getting mroe mature in its approach (I mean season 1 was clearly aimed more at kids) Also Atlantis' leading lady was a woman of colour who (although I disliked how she was nothing more than Jason's love interest) was strong in an unconventional way, well rounded, brave, compassionate and badass.

I completely agree with this it is so annoying that we won't have any type of closure. One of my best friends and I ship Pythagoras and Icarus so much and it really pleased me that there wasn't a big scene about it everyone just accepted them and I know not many other shows would have the courage to to that.

SERIOUSLY I WANTED TO SEE THE END, I WANTED TO SEE PYTHICAURAS ,I WANTED TO SEE HERCULES HAVE AN INTERVESION, I WANTED TO SEE ARIADNE HAVE A BABY I WANTED SEE PASAPHIE BE VIOLSNTLY KILLED (well maybe not that last one.) BUT STILL. WHHHHHYYYYYY!!!!!!!

I'll never be over how perfectly simple the show made it though, like no questions asked, just deal with it. HOW MANY OTHER SHOWS WOULD DO THAT?? ESPECIALLY FANTASY SHOWS???

Well I'm REALLY late lol. I've literally been binge watching the whole series of Atlantis for two days and over those 2 days I have grown to love it way too much. There are a bunch of things you are right about here and I completely agree. Atlantis had potential and a Season 3 is just what it needs to round the whole thing out. I love the show and the development of the characters are everything. Season 2 gave me hype and stress at the same time and I was automatically crushed at the end of season 2 to find out it was cancelled and left with a huge cliffhanger. OML BBC WHAT DID YOU DO.

Honestly I haven't watched any other episodes of Atlantis (yet) however the relationship between icarus and pythagoras, icarus and his father and Hercules and pythagoras made me sit down and watch the last episode. I agree with you, it shouldn't be cancelled because the show really does seem to have a lot of potential. Let's hope the BBC realise their mistake. :)

I can't believe they cancelled series 3 what annoys me is they ended it on such a massive cliffhanger when they had about 3/4 months from when they cancelled it to when the last episode was aired to re-edit and end it properly

You`ve got to admit the bants in series 1 was pretty amazing.I don`t know why this show was cancelled .It had so much potential for series 3.There`s a few potions going around so maybe the BBC might understand their mistakes and renew it or something similar .Firefly and Veronica Mars eventually got the ending they deserved .

I definitely think it should get just one more season to round the whole thing out, and part of me is still hoping for that. tbh, this isn't the first series to be cancelled right in the middle like this. Hannibal, In The Flesh, and I don't know what's going on with Lost Girl... Yes, I definitely ship Pythacarus, and want them to be together. I also want to see the rest, with the whole Golden Fleece, and killing Pasiphae (properly this time; maybe burn her body) and sinking Atlantis. But oh, woe is me, who knows if that's ever going to happen? I'm just going to have to live with that ending. Even fanfiction can't make up for this, I don't think. As for representation, I definitely agree with that too, although I have seen it as well in shows such as Torchwood. But unlike Torchwood, the quality of this show has definitely risen, and I think it deserves just one more shot.
