Which Kadee couplers would you use to replace the old Atlas ones on Atlas/Roco locomotives?

Thanks for showing how to take it apart! I just needed to take off the hood and Atlas says to do this last. So your procedure was much easier for me! Just to clarify, I put a slim flat blade screwdriver between the frame and the tab and pushed the tab slightly toward the wheels, then pulled the hood forward and out. Mine was in fairly tight so I had to wiggle it a bit to get it out. Looking at this tab after I got it off, it looks like it would tolerate only a couple of times being used before it breaks off. I put LokSound 5 in mine with a PowerPack capacitor and it is a great runner! It weighs more than your standard switcher too, so it should have good pulling power.

Thank you for the comment. I really like these Atlas S-2 locomotives. Mine was a "yellow box" early model. Later S-2 locos were a bit different. They are very nice running switchers. Have a great Christmas!

I useD the NCE decoder "ATLAS4" MADE FOR THE HO MODEL. IT IS A GREAT MODEL AND IS A JOY TO RUN. NEED more information, just ask.
