Just finished watching. Everything said is valid. Good job. 👍 The turn in the entrance is critical (also having a decontamination area in the entrance is also critical, though I know some folks designs do not include that). The depth of the shelter is another topic... This really depends on how much fallout you could expect in your location. If you are directly down wind of a major target, +5 feet of soil might be a better starting point. So, could you go into more detail on the dome shelters? And some of the other designs? A 5-10 minute video on each design and where each is the best option???

I've talked to Atlas over the phone and his number one concern was the safety of my family, not money. He is a good man for that alone. Hopefully one day we will do business. We talked about a tornado shelter but I couldn't afford it at the time. Fast forward two years, a tornado hit my street and damaged several houses and yards on April 18, 2019. Wish I would have had a shelter. Luckily no one was hurt.

Great product, BUT a correction to your statement on your 3/8" armor plated /late doors.Yes they can be shot through,secret that is figuring out a way to be hidden(same with your above ground pipes),other wise cutting torches will sever them, and they can always be sealed shut.
@agentchicken35775 жыл бұрын
I would hide the pipes by putting old tree stumps over them. Of course make sure they are hollow. another thing to do would either be heavy vegetation or make it look like something else. Like make it look like an old gas meter or electrical box that went to an old house.

I was curious if you do anything like American Safe Room? They have a roof kit you can buy if you want a poured concrete bunker/safe room/ tornado shelter. You do the walls up to 14 ft apart with concrete then install steel girders to do the roof with access hatch and air vents etc. You then pour concrete on the girders for a poured concrete roof. I was curious on your thoughts on pros and cons of a system like that.

Good shelter designs. May I suggest too whom ever buys one, or preps, is too: actually do a drill scenario so you actually experience the bug in situation; Where your in your shelter or bug-in area, depending on everything in your shelter. Plan it so you can use vacation time, so you have a job to come back too, along with school time as well, and notify someone trusted, information in case of an emergency. Plan too completely depend on your preparations. It's not as easy as you think. You have too stay inside for 3-6 days, 14days to 30days , this will show you where your weak links are. And it will allow for stock rotations, through replacement. Be safe ,be prepared, God bless amen.
@saintracheljarodm.holy-kay25605 жыл бұрын
Here's the scenario perimeters: all utilities, are no longer working, this includes internet service, and cellular phone. How ever some signal is coming through citizens band communication( separate power source). Martial law has been put in place, with use of lethal force. Stores are empty, due to last minute grabs and looters. And highly contagious virus, is spread all across the country. And renegade groups are taking over areas, causing military conflict on friendly soil. The supplies are limited to what you have. Bartering is out of the question, you are on your own. (Except in the event of an medical emergency 911 situation) this is only a test, of your planning skills. Be safe, be prepared, God bless amen.

What stops the bad guys from plugging the air pipes and suffocating you to come out? EDIT: My comment was not meant to be an insult towards Atlas, but a technical question. I appreciate them stating that their entrance hatches are bullet proof from bad people getting in, and that the air pipes have a drain system in the event of water or gasoline being poured into the pipes from the bad guys. But I haven't heard what their solution is for someone just simply plugging the air pipes? The lack of a supplementary air supply system is my concern. As for a tornado or bomb shelter, they appear well engineered. As a "Zombie Apocalypse" or hostile invasion shelter, it has it's flaws. Cheers,

The way the air pipes are done putting any type of fuel down the pipes does NOT work. Also if you blocked the air pipes trying to KILL people for NO good reason your going to get locked up and ass raped or shot trying to KILL people for NO good reason. As for finding the bunker to do this ?? Where I live in the UK there are plenty or worse bunkers from WW2 and the cold war that people drive and walk past every day and have NO idea they are there !
@bonnierussell78245 жыл бұрын
You say you can bury these things up to 40 feet? I know you said typically it's 6 to 10. That seems doable, but is it possible to get down 30 plus feet? I don't even see how you could dig that deep. Hold on. I think I see how it would work. The hole just has to be big enough to get the shelter and digging equipment down in the hole itself with enough room for ramps and stuff. But gosh, that would be a lot of work. I guess that's why it's not common. Would being that deep in the ground offer any additional benefits? Cooler maybe? Cool as in colder, obviously it's cool as in awesome.

The only thing I don't like is bringing radiated air into the shelter before cleaning through the air filters. There should be a 2 stage air system. The first filter in the generator pod and the secondary filter inside of the bunker. This way the air has already been cleaned before it ever even comes into the main part of the shelter.

@KumaBean5 жыл бұрын
It would be easy enough to camouflage them with a little imagination, for example, a lick of varying greens and brown paint followed by the planting of hydrangeas around them. It would also make sense during the planning stage to ensure that the pipes are placed near a perimeter and out of the way, not just randomly jotting up in the middle of a lawn, for example. I've seen folk hide bunkers in some very clever and often very outlandish ways, the only limit is your imagination, 👍
