Haile has all the wonderful human emotions kicking inside him and life is all about the good human emotions. Its about humbleness, hard-work, ambition, commitment, integrity, compassion, service, honesty, competitiveness, generosity, love of country, love of God, love of children. Its automatic, yes it is automatic if we don't have these inside us what we have is the opposing bad emotions like arrogance, selfishness, rudeness, being hypocritical, faithlessness, lying, lazyness and cheating.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i think that when you include road records and "unofficial" distances such as the 2 mile, Haile has something like 28/29 world bests which would stand as a world record for world records...the man truly is the greatest. Zatopek, El G, Coe and the rest: NONE can hold a candle to the Emperor's range and longevity. RUN FOREVER HAILE!

I almost forgot about his indoor 1500/ 3000 titles as well; to show such versatility is very unique to Gebreselassie (having world title at 1500m and 10000m at the same time!). In fact, he has a world record/ best or world title at every major distance from 1500m to the marathon... still believe Komen's the best?

Crazyyyyyyyyy!!! this guy is just unreal...those who run knows how fast and how hard(almost impossible) its to keep the pace that made him get the record of the fastest marathon ever 2h03.59....INSANE!!!!! =D

HE is such an awsome person in general.. I don't even like sports that much, but watching his commitment and background really shows that there is more to it,than just moving a few muscles. It's sad that he didn't get anything this time..but he held up pretty well! Congrats to him anyways

If he had carried his books with his right arm he probably wouldn't have been as good as he was on the track. When going around the turns your right arm is used more than your left. The sneaky bastard probably planned it like that.

Komen has zero olympic medals, one world gold (5000m), and six world record/ bests to his name; his time in the spotlight was 1996-1998 before he "disappeared." Gebreselassie has two olympic golds, four world titles, as well as two silvers and a bronze, twenty six world records and has been achieving unbelievable feats to this day, 1993-2009. There is no denying that while Komen was fantastic (for some time), the greatest distance runner of all time is Haile Gebreselassie.
