​@@phoenixdown3587 I can understand why you'd say that: the user interface is very Persona 5-like, and it has a concept equivalent to social links, but it is definitely quite a bit different than a Persona game: first off, we're not dealing with high school students who are. always. always. talking... ("Joker! A treasure chest! JOKER! You're too tired to make lockpicks or go out and need to to bed! JOKERRRRR! Am I the only one who eats raw ramen? JOKKKKEERRRRRR! Can I send the calling card? Can I can I can I? PUHLLLLEASE? JOOOOOOKKKKKEEERRRRR! Are we going to Mementos (the fresh maker) today? JOKOKOKOKOKOKERRERRERERR!!! OMG PLEASE LOOK AT ME JUST LOOK AT ME OMGGGGG LOOK AT ME!!!!" ) Don't get me wrong: Persona 5 / 5R was indeed a great game, but the problem is that ATLUS sales pre-P5 were about 250,000 - 1,000,000 copes per game on average, which was considered successful and made them a tidy profit. Then P5 came along and sold a whopping 9,000,000 copies. You'd think this was a good thing (and in some ways, it was), but it also put ATLUS in a very difficult position where - now owned by SEGA - they were expected to make games that sold like Persona 5 sold, which is pretty unrealistic an expectation. I know that Soul Hackers 2 was flawed in quite a few ways (poor dungeon design and having to constantly revisit dungeons with tons of random encounters that you were way too overleveled to bother with, for example), but I found it really refreshing in that it was about adults and the conversation was more sparse and adult-like instead of teenagers talking non-stop. People said that it was a commercial flop, but it wasn't: it sold actually a pretty standard number of copies for ATLUS: it just didn't come anywhere near Persona 5 sales. SMTV was considered to have slightly disappointing sales because it sold 1,000,000 copies... I believe that this may be the most of any SMT game, so by that metric, it should be considered a success, but compared to P5, it definitely wasn't. This has put ATLUS in a very difficult position, where are stuck with a fragmented fanbase: * ATLUS fans (who have often been around for a long time, or include people who found out about ATLUS through P5 and decided to play other ATLUS games); and * P5-only fans (who never really played ATLUS games before, have no interest in other ATLUS franchises like MegaTen / Etrian Odyssey, and who only want more content like P5). Now, I would propose that the P5-only fans far outweigh the ATLUS fans, which has ended up in a tough situation: investors / SEGA know that ATLUS is capable of making a game with the success of P5, and that's what they want to see to maximize their return on investment... since P5 is what sells far more than MegaTen / Etrian Odyssey / etc, ATLUS is put in the difficult position where many of its franchises are getting ignored. For example, I would posit (obviously I can't know for sure) that if it wasn't for P5's success, instead of P5 Tactica, we might have gotten a SMT: Devil Survivor 3, which would have been awesome. Instead, we just keep getting more and more and more Persona 5, which is the safest strategy ATLUS can manage at this point. I'm convinced that the remake of P3 is just an attempt to get P5 fans to follow the "Persona" franchise to buy another great ATLUS game, but P3RE is basically taking P3 and rewrapping it in P5 style while using the Persona name to hopefully hit those legendary sales numbers once again. I love P3 (it's got my favorite characters in any ATLUS game), and of course I have a preorder for this game... but I already know the story. It's not fresh material, and it's again playing it safe. Metaphor Re:Fantazio should be interesting, because the characters are very unique, and also because the setting is far more fantasy-based rather than modern Tokyo based. I think in terms of Persona, it took some of the better elements of Persona (such as the UI) and mixed them with a completely fresh take, so for that reason, in the words of my favorite ATLUS character, Akihiko Sanada, "I've been waiting for this!"

ペルソナシリーズやデビルサマナーシリーズとはRPGの作風が異なった感じですね。 イメージとしては25年程前PS1で出たthousand ARMS(ゲーム本編よりも浜崎あゆみの主題歌の方が知られている)やグローランサーシリーズの王道ファンタジーの世界観を進化させた感じに見えました。 発売されるのを楽しみにしています。
