This game is very simple as is when it comes to build creation. 30 in vitality and 50 in whichever primary stat your class utilizes will be sufficient enough for any of the game’s dungeons.

Maybe for endgame or pvp but for a majority of the game which is the grind to max lvl you will need a decent spread between vitality and ur primary power stat to make sure you aren’t dying 3 times in every fight

what I've noticed about the shield is, if it breaks, you're FUCKED unless you got allies. Damage in this game is high enough that even a tank should freak the fuck out if their shield breaks.

Yeah as a bandit i carry stamstars on hotbar in case i miss a parry and my shield gets 1 tapped

divine/sturdy/bulwark/reflect/blood gush/shield bash = not even the colossus being able to hurt your fighter ...the last 2 active skills...don't really matter

divine and sturdy can be gotten from gambling with 1k or as drops (maybe bought from 2 npcs....unclear)

Ive found that 20 points HP, 16 to 20 points mana and dumping the rest into dex works quite well for the bandit class

I started like that Then in lvl 18+ when you need to spam the poison arrow , multiple shoot and trap bomb you get out of mana pretty fast , or you are on of these mana consumable eaters ?

Right now the game feels way too linear and the stat upgrades do so little that there's really no point other than dumping every point you have into the one color of whatever class you picked

There is a point however with the preferred stat your class uses where you'll reach a damage cap for the weapon you use. This'll depend on what weapon you use for what class and your overall outfit's enchantment, but generally 30-40 points into your class's preferred stat is already enough. More than that and you get almost no return - the rest of the points you'll get will better be spent for Vitality, and a little into Mind if you're a Fighter that doesnt rely on consumables

​@@PlatinumNathThe damage caps of some of the later weapons are 100 or so. But with enchanted grive gear, you can get all of that power stat from your gear and then just spam vitality

@@DJVoxel If you stop at the (relatively low) weapon cap, your skill damage is gonna be garbage. The steam discussion forums are full of people complaining about skills being underwhelming, then revealing that they put all of their points in to vit and just got to the low weapon cap through gear.

i feel like the game significantly discourages investing a lot of points into your damage stat (except as a mage, but even then thats only considering solo play) due to the damage caps on weapons. since (as far as i can tell) the vast majority of DPS you can do on bandit/fighter is simply from your power attacks, with your skills acting as utility and buffing/debuffing, rather than your bread and butter DPS due to their long cooldowns. in multiplayer, the difference is even more significant, due to the aoe buffs each class has access to which massively increase your offensive stats but do almost nothing for your defense. rage gives an incredible +32 to power stats, devious signet gives 15% crit, 15% evasion and 20 stamina, and imbue is probably the least impactful to other party members giving +25 magic power, +15 magic defense, and +25 mana. in a party with each class, you have a combined +32 to all power stats, +25 to magic power, +15% crit/evasion, +20 stamina, +25 mana, and +15 magic defense. a solo fighter at 30str/50vit and zero offensive enchants with rage active can reach the hard damage cap for their weapons. you could invest more stats and enchants into offense, but even investing ALL of my points into having 79 str gives a pretty unimpressive ~30 more damage on stomp, at the cost of 200 HP. even the stamina value of having more str isnt really worthwhile in my experience due to the energetic enchant and stamina consumables. a solo bandit at 40dex/40vit again with zero offensive enchants doesnt quite reach the hard damage cap for the golemfist katars, but the extra 30 points of dex power required for that are only giving you +4 to your minimum damage which is not a very big difference. (and in multiplayer rage bridges that gap completely) increase dex up to 79 from 40 seems to give about 20 more damage on the melee bandit skills, which when considering their remarkably long cooldowns, is almost meaningless compared to +156 health which more than triples your health from ~69 (nice) to ~225. even as a mystic, where you have very short cooldowns, very high damage, and very high mana cost with mystic skills making you much less reliant on your weapons for DPS. flux bolt, the most powerful DPS of mystic (as far as i can tell) gets a damage increase of about 10 per hit (~93 damage per hit up to ~102) when comparing 40 mind to 79 mind. thats just really not worth it imo. the mana gain is also there, giving you +39 mana for those 39 extra points in mind, but even at 40 mind you are at 132 mana (when accounting for imbue), which is 10% past the 120 mana required to get full value from consuming a magiflower. overall, due to how offensive stats are readily given to you for little to no cost by getting better gear and using your class' buffs, i see little reason to have a large amount of investment in offensive stats. a 40/40 damage/health split seems pretty optimal for most classes. after all, time spent evading damage is time not spent standing completely still inside the enemies doing max DPS with your short range high DPS power attacks and skills. i cant really speak for using bows on bandit because to me they kinda felt like shit in comparison to the excellent DPS of katars and massive per hit damage and AoE of heavy weapons (heavy weapons on bandit are the only case where i felt it was worthwhile to swap out a class' default weapon type for another) dumping all of your stats into damage may be optimal for speedrunners who need every extra bit of DPS they can get, and are likely to be significantly more skilled at the game than the average player, but for those of us who do not fall into that category, investing in every last bit of damage has such significant diminishing returns that there is no reason to not have a good amount of health. you cant do damage to the enemy when you are dead on the floor. having more health also allows you to make the decision to just tank damage you know wont kill you, rather than wasting time parrying or dodging. all of my numbers are based on level 25 builds with mostly or all guarding enchants, using the most powerful items for each class. (except maybe the rings, i used the valor ring on fighter, slitherwraith ring on bandit, and jadetrout ring on mystic)

Dev recently said: "I have re-worked the weapon damage scaling to simplify things out. Weapon damage scales will be no longer capped, so they can endlessly scale upwards. However, the trade off is that the defense stat will be more effective against weapon damage than skill damage. The defense damage dampening against weapon damage is an additional 12%. This will most likely be adjusted as development continues."

@@saltedbleach4512 Hey I went through on my bandit with basically full bis and a mix of dex and vitality and it still took me like 9 minutes. What build/class/stuff are you using to complete it in 5 minutes?

For best balance: 2/3 of your class stats into main stat 1/3 of stats into hp (and rest, as it depends on your needs) If you play daggers, you want a bit points into strenght so you can block, but if you play ranged you want some extra mana or you gona gulp all your potions. Mystic class also likes to have some crit for magic (from agility).

I think it revolves around power threshold if I’m not mistaken, ie a sword has 141 power threshold, so you need 141 dex power, attack power, or magic power, and I believe rage and imbue can help get your stats up to the threshold, then I suppose split the rest between vit and dex (more crit)

Edit: In the last update they changed the hardcap on weapons into a softcap, so you get diminishing returns instead of nothing. So the following is no longer true; Bonus power is great and all but once you've hit the ceiling for your weapons it's just wasted, is it not? Rn having more than 94 for scepters, 110 for bows and heavy, 133 for bells, 141 for swords and katars, and 149 fore polearms doesn't give you anything more, those stat points or enchants better being used for defense or health or what have you. So at your 161 Dex Power at *least* 12 is going to waste (though if you're maining bows like in this video it's actually 51 points).

I was told that while your weapons can cap out, the skills won't. So if you're going on a skill focused setup having the extra points might not be a bad move.

@@atomiccore75 Well it was while I was playing with a friend who is known to min-max a ton, but I tested it out a bit to make sure. Went in with my max leveled bandit. Dex on my setup was like, 50. I went and respeced it to just be all Dex, and this is before factoring in that most of my gear is enchanted for more dex, so both setups cap out my katars (using the colossus ones, so these are the strongest in the game currently). Tested it with using Killer Jab since it's a big one hit attack. I didn't get any reduction in damage one the full dex setup, and I did it a few times just to be sure. I would say it could be too early to tell since the game is still pretty new and there's only so much we can do right now, but considering how easy it is to cap out the weapon damage, I imagine I would have hit a cap by now with the skills too.

@@ZenieAzure There's no cap for skills. Weapon damage has a soft cap right now, but skills scale infinitely upwards. The only thing you'd be losing from an all dex build is the hp, if you're the type to spam skills as bandit, just get your crit high and bomb things. The bonus crit chance that dex provides is good for your skills too.

Im kinda hoping for a guide to threat generation eventually. I got a warrior who's built like a tank, but I've been afraid to take it into multiplayer to get soaking all the damage. I know theres quite a few warrior skills that say they cause increased threat, but i wanna make sure i know how to hold aggro properly.

Honestly it's a bit like FFXI where holding threat = do more damage. Fighter has a natural advantage with stomp being extra threat and you can put rock throw in on top to really clinch the top threat spot on bosses. But spamming max rank stomp on cooldown is plenty

This looks more like a max potential damage build more than a "Build" for your character. I recently started working on a Jack-of-all-Classes Build and its turning out pretty well for the content that runs up into. There are primary focuses (Fighter so Strength) but i still run Dex cause that Crit bonus is actually a higher damage ceiling than just make flat damage, reason why Bandit seems like one of the Strongest classes (not because it is wholly powerful but crit scaling really helps it become infinitely more powerful on the chance of luck alone (and i do run a minor in Mind which helps skills like Fireball and other generic Mind Spells scale beautifully off the Dex Magic Crit Chance). I am not here to discredit this video but i will say if you plan on playing this game do be open-minded to try out different things. Also Dex Scaling. it can honestly make or break a build. Yes you individually may not run a Dex build (targeting all Mystic builds right now) but if you gave a your Mystic genuine magic crit chance with its multi-hi and high damage out-put you might be willing to change some things up.

I really like the bandit class and a dex build, it’s fun for me to run around with the bows haha. People are sleeping on the bow builds because the crit isn’t that high but if you play it right it does really well!

Yes you can, you can buy a book from sally in sanctum that I believe lets you respec all your points!

If I'm a Bandit, and I have the Collossus hammer, scaled off Dex, will Attack Power still affect it's damage through normal attacks and/or dexterity skills like Pay Day or Killer Jab?

If I’m thinking of the right thing, I believe they are a mechanic not yet implemented in the game having to do with elemental damage and resistance but I could be completely wrong lol.

woah ok hold on here. at a 7% evasion... Devious signet only adds 15% on top of that so how are you getting 38% evasion?

You buy a book to reset your stats for 1500 crowns and 1200 if you want to reset your skill points.

it's way too simple. i really was hoping I was missing something, but with attunement and the way that stats work, there isn't a point of them even being there. let us pick a class and then just give us the levels that class needs at this point.

Optimal allocation is to hit the cap for weapon scaling then distribute points to secondary stats that have utility. Health helps every class of course, and Dex is helpful for Mystics to get their MCrit up. Some Fighter builds want Mind in order to be less consumable dependent.
