Definitely a great spot to check out! Slightly moderate in some areas but easy in most areas. Thank you for the kind words. Hope the knee heals quickly as well. Every step I’m reminded it’s injured. Cheers

Who knows how about car got out there pretty crazy though! Thought you were going in the water there for a second lol Hopefully your knee starts feeling better soon take it easy!

It has to predate the timeframe of when this area became part of the National Park system. The trees that surround it have to be 50 years old or more. I definitely thought I was going in the water. Hope the knee recovers quickly as I’m going to Thru hike the PMT in the Spring. Thanks for watching and the support! Cheers
@NickandRachel3 жыл бұрын
@@MetroOnTheMove the PMT it's a little over twenty miles long right?

Happy to see people enjoying the channel to help reach this goal! I’ve been staying off the knee for about 6 weeks but I’ve needed to get out for some exercise. Still icing and wearing a brace or wrap. I totally almost went in the water. Cheers and Happy New Year my friend!

What is the parking fee for this park? It is amazing how those car fossils end up hosting its own ecosystem, at least the abandonded cars in Providence Canyon serve that purpose. Thanks for sharing.
@MetroOnTheMove3 жыл бұрын
Happy Holidays! It’s $5 to park, $40 for the Chattahoochee River Annual Pass or $80 for the National Park Annual Pass which is what I recommend as it is good anywhere within the National Park System and USFS. Crazy to find a car like that there. Must have been from 50 years ago when the recreation area was developed. Thank you for watching and your continued support my friend. Cheers!

@@MetroOnTheMove I remember hiking there 14 yrs ago and do not remember seeing a car? I might have gone a different way
@MetroOnTheMove3 жыл бұрын
@@karenclabaugh5416 If you hike the trail counter clockwise starting with the first incline across the bridge and up the hill you take a right at the first marker. Then continue to trail on the far right to follow the loop on the furthest edge of the park, you will see the car slightly off to the right. During the summer or warmer months, the car may be blocked due to the leaves.

Enjoyed your video. In the future, could you tell us the date of your trip and the actual day of the week? It nice to see how crowded it is on a given day and also to know how it looks at a certain time of the year.. Thanks for the great content and congrats on reaching your new subscriber milestone.

Will do! On this hike, it was a Sunday in December and we got there around 10:30 in the morning. There was several open parking spaces when we arrived but when we left, the lot was full. Thanks for watching and the continued support. Hope you had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Real fine balance between keeping fit and not worsening your injury. Looks like a good stroll though. Glad you didn’t get wet lol

Agreed! Been keeping it iced and in a brace or wrap but still need to nurse the knee for a few more weeks. Yep, the one step was almost it and I would have been in the water. Nothing worse than hiking in the cold when soaking wet. Happy New Year my friends! Cheers

Agreed! I still remember several years ago looking at the Map of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area and finding all of the trailheads was so rewarding. It was a beautiful day and hardly anyone was out there due to the cold weather. Thanks for watching and the support! Happy New Year!

My absolute favorite Atlanta hike. I probably do it once a month. The only thing I don't like is that it is a very frequent place for smash-and-grab car break-ins. Only bring an empty car and the parking lot is covered in glass so watch out if you bring your dog.
@MetroOnTheMove3 жыл бұрын
Great advice! I’ve seen the glass and never keep anything in my car because if this.

Thanks for documenting your hike. I have been thinking of doing some hike in Georgia. This is a state park that I will definitely have to check out. New Subscriber here. I am looking forwarding to watching more of your content. I’m curious what is your favorite State park in Georgia?
@MetroOnTheMove3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and the support! My favorite State Parks are Tallulah Gorge, Cloudland Canyon, Black Rock Mountain and Fort Mountain. This trail is within the Chattahoochee River National Recreation area which is separate from the State Park system in Georgia so you have to have a different pass to access. I like the CRNRA more than State parks as they feel to be less populated.
