1:22 "..so that's really what atmospheric pressure is - it's basically the weight of all the air molecules above a given area." If that was the case, we would see a pressure drop inside a sealed container.
@philindeblanc2 жыл бұрын
thats a very good point. how do we weigh the unpressurized pressure of the contained air?
@lm581422 жыл бұрын
Thanks. The pressure inside the sealed rigid container seems to be caused by capturing a sample from the bottom of the 'gas ocean' where the air density is higher causing more molecular collisions with the walls of the container (or a pressure gauge sensor). However, it gets interesting again when we try to apply that explanation to the hydrostatic pressure, as the water density varies insignificantly with depth, yet the pressure inside the rigid container sealed underwater at depth does not disappear. One may be tempted to say that water molecules at greater depths have higher kinetic energy which causes higher pressure readings inside the containers sealed at greater depths despite unchanged density, but that means water temperature would be higher the deeper we dive, which is not the case.
@erwinconxepts4 жыл бұрын
atmoapheroc. pressure is not the weight of the air,.its a common misconception about atmospheric pressure. atmosphere is composed of different gas with different weights.
@vijaymalhotra17333 жыл бұрын
Air by the definition means mixture of gases. So need not be specifically mentioned
@philindeblanc2 жыл бұрын
Its actually not. We can produce different gases from the air, but the gases are not a constituency of the air.

thanks a lot sir.could you please explain that, what would be the pressure exerted by the fluid on the walls of the container . thank you.....

why does pressure require force to be acting have to be perpendicular?
@philindeblanc2 жыл бұрын
weight alone can be the potential pressure. This is why density is a measure potential force. Everything becomes force with motion. But its a good question, does pressure require force? Is there pressure in the first place? At what point is air a perpendicular pressure? Good questions. I dont think I have made sense of it yet. The math works but based on what?

Why air pressures is not used to provide electricity One kilometre area bounded by barometer column will gives so much energy per dey which is stored in the battery and used later in the emergency??
@scottzajac25422 жыл бұрын
Pressure is negative as you rise above sea level. I like the concept but I would think of an inflated balloon in deep sea creating pressure as it rises. The energy required to fill the balloon was ~ to pressure generated is it at that moment with a long term result?
