Very relaxing if you imagine yourself sealed in the perfect hiding spot where the alien will never find you. Everyone knows you can hide from a xenomorph for long periods of time, like little Newt in Aliens. It’s your own personal area and it will never find it :)

No problem getting back to work. After reaching the next save point my brain was all like CAN WE PLEASE STOP NOW

I generally really love the xenomorph. It’s literally the perfect alien you can ask for and the whole thing itself is just goddamn perfect, ngl even with knowing how dangerous they are I’d love to be able to come close to one (locked up of course) just to see it’s beauty in truth. Like it is literally the perfect organism

I mean the whole point is it is the perfect organism. It's entire philosophy is based of that of Ant colonies which are the most successful species of animal on Earth. They are the deadliest organism simply because their offspring essentially imitate anything stronger than them and are part xenomorph. They are incredibly intelligent and tbh what's evil about them is they have no conscience. They are lightening fast, 8 ft tall when standing, weigh enough that it would crush you with its weight and it's claws/tail is sharp enough to cut through anything like butter. Even if you cut it, it's entire biology is a defense system given its blood. But ultimately as I said before what makes them beautiful isn't the fact they are probably the deadliest alien/horror movie monster by far but that even in death, facehuggers are literally adapted to create new xenomorphs from pretty much anything. Even your strongest predator for example WILL succumb to one eventually. Xenomorphs are selfless for their own survival, they will literally kill themselves to ensure the survival of the species and that's what makes them more dangerous than other horror movie monsters. They ultimately just want the facehugger to impregnate you, their aim is not necessarily to kill you which is scary because it means they will openly suicide to achieve their goal (like an ant hive that feeds its queen).

+ the fact any xenomorph has the potential to become a queen too. Tbh the only other horror movie creature that would be able to cause them issues is the creatures from the Thing. What would happen when the Thing assimilates into a xenomorph? Would it be able to? Once detected would it just be swarmed and killed by the xenomorphs? Or would it infect the whole colony? It's an interesting question because the trick card of the xenomorphs is in defeat their facehuggers WILL ensure their survival. But how does that work in this scenario? Does the Thing assimilate into a face hugger and use it's assimilated form to create xenomorphs?? Lots of interesting questions there.

If you think about it the Thing is representative of a virus. The xenomorphs that of Ants. In the wild Ants will actually be able to identify sick members and to prevent spread of the virus kill the specimen away from the nest and themselves (lol I know) to prevent the virus from spreading. Would the same thing happen here with the Thing creature who knows?

@@symbolitical4158 the thing is my all time favorite horror movie (not the crap prequel, but the 1984 version) and the dread of not knowing who or what is a thing terrifies me moreso than seeing it reveal itself. It's just a mindfuck and messes with all of your fight or flight instincts and just increases your level of paranoia of those around you. And I truly believe a thing would be able to replicate a xeno. Awesome idea man, could you imagine what a xeno-thing would look like???? Pure nightmare fuel.

I saw this when it came out in 1979 at the Charles in Boston. Old school 2 level theater with the side opera seats. Perfect for it. I'll never forget the audience as they exited when it was over. Nobody was saying a word. Everyone was completely stunned, in shock, by what they just witnessed. Ridley Scott's finest work for my money..

When I first played this game my heart was beating so hard that I had to quit and play the next night. I play in a large room with a nahimic setup so the bass and sounds are very loud and clear. I play at sound 70 and boy those footsteps from the Alien are so loud that my floor vibrates with each step as if he is literally walking around in my house trying to hunt me. I only play at nights, alone to gain the full fear experience. I completed the game on nightmare after playing the game for the first time on hard mode. Nightmare was scary, but I completed it quickly. The hardest thing I had to do was sneak past 3 aliens near the last level with no distractions, and no flame fuel. Somehow I just stood up and walked on down to the room to get my suit. The drool dripping down from the vents and soft hissing is a true horror to see and when he drops down with that force that makes your heart drop out of your chest, you truly know the end has come. Hiding in vents is futile, because as soon as you spend more than 10 seconds in there, the alien will dive into the vent at lightning speed and grab you. Be strong, move when silence is felt, and if you want the best distraction then ring the dinner bell to eat those annoying humans!

I wish I could find an ambience that focused more on the xenomorph. I mean he's so cool, I want to hear him hunting and walking around aggressively like if I was playing the actual game. Like maybe the ambience would be you hiding in a locker. And he would get really close to the locker several times and do his little "I'm upset" hiss. And at the end of the ambience, he would finally tear the locker open and get you. This is pretty good though. I just wish he stayed out longer and played with us longer. I really miss when he decides to leave. I like the xenomorph, he was my pal in the game.

I remember seeing a video of the producers of the game discussing the creation of the ship, its noises, lighting, etc. and one guy (can't remember the name) said "we wanted to create an environment where even just holding still makes the player feel uneasy." I'd say mission accomplished!

It varies from game to game on how I make them but sometimes the most simple way is to just find a place in a game that has good ambience, turn off the music, stand still in game and record. From there it’s a bunch of editing and rendering to make the videos longer 😊

Can you do more but without the Xenos around? They're too distracting and get in the way of the enjoyment 😅 If you can't, maybe do these kinds of videos but inside quite rooms also, in the dormitories and offices perhaps. I don't remember which ones exactly, there's many around, haven't played the game since I beat it like a year or two ago. Try the Habitation areas, Torrens perhaps? Or around Gemini and Comms Tower, also the waiting areas of each different 'train' stations are quite soothing too, same for the area near the Sheriffs' HQ :D Anyway, thanks for uploading these so far. Indeed. If you check out the playlist, most I've done so far are without the Xeno and most I do going forward will also be without him. But now and then I might throw a Xeno one in there to mix it up. But I know what you mean it can be distracting. I also generally work my way through a game doing ambience as I go, so if you check the playlist, I did about 4 or so videos just on the Torrens :) That being said we are taking a bit of break from Alien Isolation otherwise it will be the only thing I upload for the next year (such a long game with great areas and ambience!) but there will be more to come in the future. :D
