I have flown the Atom 80 for 45 minutes and really like it so far!
Its very easy to work on and alot smoother than the Top 80!
The thrust seems to be 10-15% more!

Thank you for posting this...had I not seen this video, I would have picked the default Top 80 on a Miniplane. But I just so happen to also be 140 lbs and would have gotten that "slobber" at cruise or close to it. So I'm convinced now, going to save a little longer for the Atom 80 configuration offered by Miniplane.

Nice…! Tommy my weight Is 205 and have two 185 Vittorazi setups but been thinking about atom 80 on days with 5 mph winds or better for take-off Glad to see your pleased with vibration and power.

I own both, Top 80 over two hundred absolutely trouble free hours, I was excited to get the Atom 80 on a really nice Power 2 Fly LAF frame. Unfortunately before 30 hours the Atom 80 clutch came apart, it’s has had multiple issues since, pipe split, exhaust bracket, Carb issues in cool weather, with only 80 hours the Atom has established itself as Unreliable. I am a small guy and treat all my toys very gently. Maybe the Atom has a tiny bit more thrust but when you are gliding down with multiple failures, you won’t care too much about that I will assure you... thankfully I kept my Miniplane Top 80 as it has turned out to be the superior machine,

Thanks for the reply! I have the upgraded exhaust bracket and I adjusted the carb meter level slightly rich never have any cold weather issues.I now have 60 trouble free hours and a 3 blade prop it has significantly more thrust and way smoother than the top 80.I have my old top80 for sale if intrested??

@@HilltopZombieShop Yes I haven't advertised it yet.It has less that 10 hours on a fresh top end and about 90 hours on a new crank,bearings,and seals.Comes with eprop 125cm.asking 1500. I take PayPal email [e-mail]

We had to make adapter plates and use a prop spacer..my buddy Ryan will have a more in depth video than mine.
