My grandfather was an architect and had a designer friend who decorated my grandparent's house in the 50s or 60s. I grew up listening to stories about the Sputnik mural in the living room. Unfortunately, we can't find any pictures of it.

I sold my 1956 “ California Ranch” to my Son and Daughter in Law. I purchased my childhood home from my three siblings after my Mom died at 93. I knew that someone would probably knock it down for a rebuilt. It took my Dad 2 1/2 years to build while he and my Mom, three siblings & Grandmother lived in a old Army Barracks, while he was working & going to Columbia on the GI Bill. That’s what The Greatest Generation did to get a better life. They put over 150K into it, including new landscaping over a acre. It still has the original “ foot print “ and the Taxes are Grandfathered in. It’s located in NYS not far from “ The City”.
