the 2s and 2p orbital shapes are incorrectly illustrated. I believe the 2p, which is dumbell orbital shape, should be animated inside the 2s orbital since the both orbitals are in the same energy level. (correct me if i was wrong thanks)

For anyone confused, electrons don’t “orbit” in circular motions, the blue spheres and dumbbell shapes are where the electron will be found 90% of the time. The other 10% the electron would be farther away from the blue shape’s bounderies

_"Can anyone clarify me that how to imagine the orbit and orbitals"_ There are no 'orbits' in an atom, only orbitals. _"How it is possible that shape dumbell rotating around nucleus..?"_ It doesn't rotate, the dumbell area is just where the electron will be found (actually where it will be found

Great video. I would just change 1 thing: the movement of each electron confined in its orbital should be a lot more erratic. Check other videos about it. I think this video does a good job to link atomic geometry with molecular geometry.
@davelordy
@davelordy Жыл бұрын
_"the movement of each electron confined in its orbital should be a lot more erratic"_ It wouldn't be erratic, the electron is not moving at all, the orbital doesn't define an area where an electron is 'buzzing' around.
