I agree, my point was that it is a double edged sword because dirty bitcoin could be exchanged for xmr ( XMR > BTC) but the concept of dirty xmr doesn't exist (BTC>XMR). I guess I should have phrased it differently.

I have a question about subaddresses. Do they count as seperate accounts? Say I have 1 coin in my main address and 1 in a sub address and I want to send someone 2 coins. Will this have to be done with two transactions?

The wallet will automatically combine these two coins and send them to the destination address in one single transaction.

@@moneromonero15 Does this mean that there is a second transaction taking place internally with fees? Also whats the difference between an Account vs a Subaddress? I made a new "Account" in the GUI but it doesn't seem to have its own private key or seed phrase that I could backup. If its just another derivation of my top Account what seperates it from a subaddress?

@@0x7eb5 I'm honestly not entire sure what "account" is because i have never used it, but i believe its just a separate list of subaddresses that are separated within the wallet. unless you really need to keep different transactions separated i wouldn't use that feature because it just causes confusion for most newbies, and honestly you dont really need it unless you have a specific use case. as for the combining of coins, yes it would be like combining a 10 dollar bill and another 10 dollar bill to make a 20 and then sending the 20 to the recipient. which would cost more in fees. The same goes for bitcoin or most other cryptocurrencies and since bitcoin fees are so high many people like to "consolidate UTXOs" when bitcoin transaction fees are low, so that when it is spent later it doesnt cost a fortune. This usually isnt needed in monero though because fees are so low to begin with and will actually fall over time as more people are using the network over time. Sorry for the wall of text, but hopefully it helps!

is it safe to keep your monero at Binance ? I feel they are safer there, compared on my laptop. I just want to keep my mined monero somewhere safe and forget for few years

I guess it comes down to if you're more worried about binance getting hacked or your own computer. Keep in mind, when its on binance it technically is not yours because you do not hold the keys. It is just an IOU.

Theoretically I believe you can, But I have heard it is better to use a rock 64 or something like that because it has AES and makes it much better. Honestly though, I don't know a whole lot about it. I'm sure the monero subreddit can help you if you search for it!

Whenever theyr'e finished, which is who knows when. They want to do it right and these things take time. I know that the comit network one will be finished in just a few months if I remember correctly, but nothing is set in stone. I would give it a high probability to be done within the next year though.

The P2P exchange will soon take over, I've been checking out a few of these atomic swap providers who charge like a 3% - 6% fee which is stupid. In the future there will be swap pools where anyone can place their bid / ask prices & these systems will have ultra-low spreads.

LTC is a surveillance coin just like bitcoin is. They have plans to add mimble wimble but its a marginal improvement and probably wont do a whole lot, especially compared to monero.

If bitcoin is completely transparent, how, even using atomic swaps, can people not know that you bought monero for bitcoin?

It could be seen. However, once in Monero nothing can be seen. Whenever using bitcoin it should be assumed whatever you do can be seen. One thing to mention though is that this will be implemented most likely onto a decentralized exchange where trades are done peer to peer, so unless other outside information is known they will probably only be able to see that the bitcoin was sent to a different address. That is, unless the decentralized exchange itself adds markers to the bitcoin transactions which Bisq does and probably others.

@@moneromonero15 I keep just a couple of monero to hold indefinitely on my own node so that those monero from a transaction from years ago can’t be as easily identified when/if I cash out monero later. Keep at least 2-4 monero in your node wallet and never cash it out for the rest of your life and you should be good to go :) .

Most Fluffypony (Riccardo Spagni) interviews start off with him talking about the founding of the project. If you don't know who Fluffypony is, he was one of the original 7 contributors who forked the project from bytecoin so he was there in the beginning. Now though, he is still active in the community but does not have as big of a role anymore. This is definitely a video idea that I have had in mind as well, so watch my channel for a possible video on this!
