My LS swapped W126 Mercedes Benz - BUILD BREAKDOWN

That seems pretty legit to only use the constant power and switched/ start signal from the Merc. I'm putting an LS in a 92 500SL and I've been concerned with all the modules. I want to ditch the hydraulic convertible stuff too. I'm converting the steering box to front steer with W204 knuckles and a BMW E46 rack just to get exhaust clearance. Haven't seen an update on this but it looks fun.

Awesome swap, I have 3 Mercedes with the old Bosh Jetronic systems, one is my daily driver. Steep learning curve but they are incredibly reliable once you get the hang of it. Though mechanical fuel injection can't compete with the power from EFI, good enough reason for a swap.

man you have took some of the fear ive had of tackling my swap. ive got a 560 sel with a phenomenal body and paint condition, and 2 5.3 donor trucks. i dont know if im going to jump to the boosted route directly just because of my budget and the tuning aspect. ive caught alot of hate from the purists. but im not about to pay the ticket on an antique mercedes transmission. I jumped on this car because of the price and who doesnt love a luxurious Big Body Mercedes. i dont know how i didnt find your video yet but im glad i did.

I just bought a 85 sel500 and all the vacuum lines have me tired and everything is so old and toasted I’ve been thinking about about doing this. I just care about A/C and the body since that’s what caught my attention

I am so excited to watch this build, I have a 1985 380se, it runs like shit and I want to ls swap it but there isn't much out there on engine swapping the w126. hopefully I am able to get my project started soon, going to be basing a lot off what I see you do and try to follow how you do it. @@swoqz2526 I honestly just unhooked the engine ecu and let it unhooked. That engine ecu only controls that. There are body computers for the interior. I just used key on power from the engine harness to make it a little easier for me

very nice project, I have 560 SEL and a 87 420 and just finally got the 560 running good on the CIS distributor system but i was thinking to do a LS swap on my 87 420 that im scared to go further then 50miles away due to the CIS system issues and parts getting hard to find. if you have different intake would be possible to mount the engine higher for more clearance at the steering parts? or you already maxed out on the tunnel clearance? just wondering because i might have access to a cheap LS1 and was curious if you see enough clearance in the trans tunnel.

What did you do for your fuel system? Looks good. I've a 1991 R129 that'll get an LS. I think they're very similar in fuel delivery.

Day one thing love the car man had one back in high school but you put an LS into a Sherman tank I don't know if you're going to be able to get the wheels up and burning or be able to get that sled on down the strip but I'll definitely watch to see and your welding looks good especially with the mig

I got a 1990 420 sel….. sick of this 4.2 bs ass motor… man it’s hell smokes and leaks oil like hell, heard the head gaskets leaks oil… can’t wait to take it out and put a Ls in it!!!
