Mate i have been struggling with this reading from the ATPL materials! Your explanation is exemplary!! YUou should really consider making something official and selling it. I would happliy pay for your high quality videos!

For wind drift: (60/TAS) x wind speed x sin of the angle between a/c track and the wind direction Also remember: the faster your TAS the less you will be suffering from drift.

To remember the speed, I use the following : ICE T is a pretty cold drink. I(IAS) C(AS) E (AS) T(AS) I(nstruments) P(osition) C(comprenssibility) D(ensity)

If you are struggling with remembering the 300kts, just look at the highest Number of your „low-speed-slide“. The highest number there is 300kts 😊

Question. at 12th minute mark You're finding the CAS from TAS. Wouldn't Comp. Corr. be going the other way than it is in example from 9:40 because youre looking for the value backwards? Or am i thinking about this wrong and Comp.Corr is always done the same way regardless if you are looking at finding ~CAS from TAS or TAS from CAS.

Excellent - I use the wind up method all the time so my ‘vertical’ is the Trk/Drift and put 110 under the dot - odd how there are two methods. Although using your method with wind up / track up seems to work

24:45 Hm, bit confused on this part. Been doing questions on the bank and the drift is the opposite to what is shown on the CRP5. Ie that should be 10 degrees right drift.. could this be clarified please?
@InForTheLonghaul2 ай бұрын
Are you thinking wind correction angle? The correction angle is the same value as the drift, but in the other direction.
@atplclass2 ай бұрын
drift and correction angle are opposite and equal so maybe i'm getting my terms the wrong way round in this video
@projectflightyoutube2 ай бұрын
@@InForTheLonghaul Yeah maybe I was thinking of the wrong thing. Just convinced I saw a question the other way around but wouldn't be able to find it now, thanks anyway

at 21min, how can you say 5° If you dont have specified TAS? I dont think it is possible, moreover you say degrees and in the upper part of the screen you write 5kts, but it should be 10 knots crosswind If I am not mistaken.

Correct. Scale of this squared section is the same vertically and horizontally. But still, great video!

At kzbin.info/www/bejne/fIarmmmjj72ertE the x Wind is actually 10KTS not 5KTS. One line represents 2KTS on the lowspeed side if the CRP 5 (indicated on the upper right L). So 5 lines equals 10KTS. XWC=Wind (V) x Sin(Wind Angle)=20KTS x Sin(30)= 10KTS For Headwind/Tailwind: HWC/TWC= Wind (V) x cos (Wind Angle)= 20KTS x Cos(30)= 17.32KTS ≈ 17KTS Thank you for this awesome explanation! You really help me through my ATPL(A)
