now that Isner is old yes, but Isner prime is better than any level of Opelka has reached. (at the moment)

Reilly, use your height and wingspan to your advantage! I know you can't always get those super low balls but I have seen some rallies that you should have won, had you just taken a quick little side step and stretched out your arm to get the ball. Keep going!

Before watching him play a couple matches I always believed he wouldnt be a good mover given the size. He moves well on the court!

Opelka is a reason why I think its useless (and even unfair) to compare generations. I mean, every generation builds on the last. Opelka is a better Isner, but he could never be where he is today without Isner to pave the path.

It's not really rocket science at the highest level, or is it ?

It depends on the coach, but they're in a grand slam with long matches and they're in between a match and not trying to overwork and just stay in a rythm. Outside of tournaments practice harder and more focused.

Adjustments have to made from tournament to tournament due to variations in court speed (and type of surface, of course). Additional adjustments have to made before each match because you have to look at each opponent's strengths and weaknesses, and modify your game accordingly.

It depends. Reily is 6’11” and a really good mover - super athletic. With those tools you try to play first strike and dictate points. If you’re Gilles Simon you need to focus a lot more on being crafty, patterns of play, mind games etc.

Just to show that the ATP has no grudge against this player known for his constant bashing of the ATP because of his devotion to PTPA and Djokovic and Pospisil!!!

With his height and reach, he should be hitting the balls closer to the baseline. Easy for him to be aggressive with the ball to give less time for his opponents.

He could dominate with his serv if he used that height.

his coach does not see that Opelka hits all the balls late, he needs to hit the balls in front of himself to do an earlier swing
