I am disappointed when Anupama said "it's an ignorant film and should handle with sharper writing a lighter touch" which this film already did. This film did justice to the topic of mental health as most of the films about these topics are too dark and are in the category of horror films but this film has a proper end. The lead character supports the person he loves, and the female character accepts her true reality. This film entertains a lot and conveys it message with that. I think we should support this rather than just being a lame critic. Anupama should focus on content rather than being so called judgmental on the topic and all.

There wasn't one moment were I felt bored by the movie and the twist, never saw it coming. This movie is one of the best this year's

Music was awesome. Sara Ali khan is not at all disappointing. I personally liked the movie. I m glad that they dealt with certain problems like mental health and social issues in a humorous manner. Sometimes, the most difficult lessons can be taught in a humorous way. Humour has a way to rich wider audience and educate them. I would recommend people to watch the movie, if possible. The end credit touched my heart.

Just here to say that this movie is now one of my favorite movies of the year. A pleasant watch for the holidays with family. This movie can turn out to be Sara Ali Khan's Jab We Met moment. She has the most scenes and totally holds her own against stalwarts like Dhanush and Akshay. Oh and speaking of, for the people raising doubts about Akshay and Sara's odd pairing due to their age gap, i suggest watch the film coz the story totally justifies their pairing and is actually quite a surprise take on the romance genre. All 3 leads did great work with their characters, A.R. Rehman's music was splendid, a very creative script and the direction on point.

My 2 cents, please watch this movie. Loved it!! There are loopholes but such a brilliant concept and performances by all 3 actors. The only downside was the sudden switch in Dhanush's romantic feelings but I understand that they perhaps had a long film and could have done better at editing portions that provided more conviction to that love story, which lies at the heart of the plot. Also, they could have spaced out the songs a bit but overall songs are great. However, having said that the story hooks you once you accept that Dhanush has fallen for Sara's character. Also, Dhanush is not a stalker at all. The bottle breaking scene was not necessary in my opinion and it could have been something else to prove that what exists and what does not. However, that did not in any way glorify stalker behavior. I am a bit disappointed with this review. I had almost decided to not watch this movie per this review. This was a completely pleasant surprise when I started watching it.

I agree on the bottle breaking point. It was not meant for proving his love, it was rather for drawing the line between fiction and reality. That did not show his stalker behaviour at all. He just had to prove a point and that was definitely not related to his love for her. Also, I did not find Dhanush's character stalker-like. There are many scenes that proved that he was actually understanding of the situation and also patient in handling it.

Dhanush is effortless. Sara is surprisingly good. A R Rahman again proves he is the best. The movie is a treat to the ears. Cinematography by Pankaj Kumar is as usual- top notch. Anand L Rai has a winner.

I am glad I had watched the movie before this review! I love the movie. The first half belonged to Sara and she nailed her character very well. Dhanush handled the second half effortlessly while Akshay Kumar charmed the screen like a magician! It was a new story which needs an applaud and even with its minor flaws is definitely a must watch. 😊

My only problem with the film is the love between Dhanush and Sara comes out of nowhere it wasn't properly developed. I would have liked more scenes before he fell for her. He is in train yelling one minute and the next minute he comes out of the room dancing. The music was great but overdone. I could have done without the background score for some scenes. You don't need to literally put emotional music for all scenes... the audience doesn't need that cue to make them feel emotional and yes the screenplay,direction and editing could have been more tighter. The scene where AK catches fire for real and his wife come to save him could also have been done better.

This movie was so good and so thoughtful. Sara played Rinku beautifully. My heart ached for her character when she was trying to save Sajad. The layers of Rinku’s character was incredibly beautiful and so sad at the same time. As much as I loved Dhanush’s character but this was Sara/Rinku’s movie and her story. I loved it so much !

Unlike most commercial directors who make Punjabis and Marathi main characters and put them on pedestal in Hindi movies, which no one talks about unfortunately Anand L Rai ji is making characters who are actually from the Hindi heart land, thank u sir, there is a lot of racism and dislike towards Hindi speaking north Indians especially northern, central and eastern part of Hindi belt

Stupidity has a name. And it's written all over the review. It's a complicated script but executed well enough for the audience to be hooked and entertained. Asking for too much logic these days from movies could be a far fetched idea. You must understand how the Akshay Kumar and Sara story was weaved into the script to digest the 28-year-old gap as mentioned in the review. Ignore this review and watch the movie. I actually liked Sara Ali Khan's acting especially at the end of the movie. Made me very emotional. Akshay was okay. Dhanush's acting was also good. Story was not that convincing. But the ending was good. The movie however dragged, it's length should have been 20 to 30 min shorter. Mental health issue was portrayed only on the surface level. It didn't delve deep into the mental health matter at all. Songs were the best part about the movie thanks to A.R. Rahman. Movie was a bit boring to be honest. Could have done better though.

It was one of my favorite movies of the year along with Mimi. I do understand the practicality of medications and the illnesses being addressed. But I think that is the idea that the movie is about showing the power of love. It's just about the perspective of accepting the narrative of what Anand jee is trying to tell I think. Sara's best performance and Dhanush as always is phenomenal. It was a very wholesome and pure souled movie which made me love the "love" again. It's about the innocence and unconditional love Dhanush has for Sara in this movie. A.R Rahman created magic of course. I would say a great wrap up for the year.

I've never heard a movie review talk about the ages of actors. This is cinema. Cinema is a world created with magic. Anything can happen and an actor's job is to show the magic to us audience. No matter how old they are, they are actors. They are doing their magic. A movie cannot and should not be reviewed by the 'age gap' of actors. For me, Akshay is one of the best actors and he did an amazing job as always. In fact, I dont think anybody else could play this role as magical as him. Also, Sara is really growing as an actress. She is getting better and better. I am sure that this movie has helped her a lot as an actress. Making a movie with Akshay Kumar and learning from him in this process must be a great oppurtunity for any actor.

Anupama clearly didn't understand this movie. Story is complex and unique. Everything that seems ludicrous is justified in the context revealed at the intermission. Beautiful film with all leads doing very well, Sara is a find while Dhanush has proven his might again.

Also, she is wrong about mental disorder it is called differential diagnosis that happens after knowing the patient. He is suggesting she could have any of it. Also, most Bollywood movies glorify and promote toxic personality traits and pass them off as love, like stalking, falling in love overnight, becoming the psycho lover, and breaking empty bottles on one head. The world has a lot of gullible people who get inspired by movies and find problematic behavior of the characters in the movie as okay or cool. So criticism is justified.

Sara Ali Khan has proved that she has surpassed her parents in her acting prowess. She has managed to carry off such a difficult role with so much conviction. It is a complex story but it has been made with sensitivity and emotion. Hat's off to the makers to give us such a different and touching love story. I loved this unique story.

I was reluctant to watch this movie because of reviews but then I decided to watch it because of Dhanush and I dont regret. In fact I am happy that I did not miss it. Ist half was so slick that an hour just flew by. The second half a bit slow to start with but only for a few minutes. I think it's a very good movie, quite different and entertaining.
