I can't even tell you how much respect I have for these guys. I remember when all their albums came out and I was like 15 and it made me want to get better at guitar. I'm 25 now and still no matter what they write I support it. I wouldn't be half the musician I am now if it weren't for ATREYU

these guys are what initially got me into the metal scene, I remember distinctly hearing the song the Crimson for the first time ever when I was in the 4th grade ( the curse had just released, I'm 23 now ) and instantly fell in love, I didn't know what this fast aggressive emotional music was but I knew that it was what I'd be listening to for the rest of my life and what kind of music I wanted to make for the rest of my life. 12 years later and that still stands. metal has had a crater sized influence and spot in my life like nothing else has. I understand that many people don't like it simply because the sheer aggression and passion of it may frighten many people at first but if you look past that and hear the lyrics and the emotion the vocalist puts to use in the song and the technicality of all the other musicians and what you get is a music style and lyricism that isn't like any other genre. anyway, it warms my heart to see that these guys got back together and are still making music that is reminiscent of their older albums like the curse and suicide kisses and butterfly notes. keep up the good work guys, you'll always be my number 1 band, it's like your first kiss or first born, you never EVER forget what got you there. and atreyu is what got me into the metal scene, rock on dudes \m/
@darkscott778 жыл бұрын
Same in about 2007, these guys introduced me completely into the hardcore side of punk/metal music, as a kid I did not understand the screaming and stuff but I still really liked it! and to this day I still do

Every now and then I come back to Atreyu's old songs (in particular this and Blow, which are my all time favourites) and I almost tear up, they were so good, yet so underrated. I even lost track of them for some years, I should listen their new stuff, even tho Alex left the band last year, as I found out something like... Yesterday. My adolescence is screaming and wants to come back for good and never leave again. God how do I wish I had enjoyed my golden years way more than I actually did, but it was so tough. Lots of mistakes and wrong choices. Never openly enjoying things.

It is great to see that someone notices this too, I love drummers that can sing this is because it takes talents to drum and sing at the same time, banging on the drums shakes the vocal chords and lungs and can be very exhausting. so I give props to people who sing while drumming. the first one I started listening to while being a young kid was Phil Collins of Genesis.
