+Malcolm Wilson thank you for the info! My father told me that Leeds trams ran all the way out to Guiseley White Cross up to the 'thirties. That is why Harry Ramsden opened his fish and chip shop next to the tram shed.

My father was a Bradford transport trolley bus driver for years and a shed man at Saltaire. He drove the last trolley bus in the UK from the stop at Saltaire into the shed for the final time. I lived in Saltaire and played football in the field near the end of the bus journey to Hirst Wood. Saltaire roundabout is no longer there. Replaced by traffic lights and I believe Hirst Lane is now blocked off.

+Malcolm Wilson as a 13yr boy I helped the Shipley canal boatmen unload 40 tons of Castleford coal using barrow, planks and shovels to mills at Shipley, Bingley and Skipton. I helped work the locks from Leeds to Bingley 5-rise also Hirst Wood and Dowley Gap. Wonderful men so hardworking. The bad winters '62-63 froze up the canal for weeks. Wonderful memories!
