Click on Finder, then at the top task bar select Go to bring down the drop-down menu. Then hold down the 'ALT' key. This will expand the drop down menu to expose more options in that list. In the drop-down menu, select Library, then select Application Support, then select American Truck Simulator. The mod folder should certainly be there.

Happy to help. That's a sign that the mod version and the game version are different. The game has been updated to version 1.49. The mod is still on 1.48.5. We have to wait until the mod has been updated. :)

IF I install the Heavy snow, I always install the physics, Unless I add the clean roads. I may try one of these days the mod with out the heavy winter. It hasn't been a heavy winter where I live (except this year).

I'm going to try the clean roads in the next one. I like the Physics mod, but really only enjoy it for a while. It takes me so much longer to make deliveries, and the sliding gets a bit too much sometimes. :)

Thanks very much for the kind words, I'm glad it helped! For the snowfall, you can adjust the rain probability meter to set how often it snows. There won't be any rain that falls with this mod, it's always be various types of snow, but you can play with that meter to make it rain as frequently or as little as you like. (I like about 1/3 of the way across, from left to right.) The video shows this starting at 10:50. :)

Happy to help! Two things... Did you get the right version of the mod? If you have the latest version of the game installed, you want to make sure to install the version of the mod for 1.48.5, not 1.48. It's here: grimesmods.wordpress.com/2017/05/18/frosty-winter-weather-mod/ Also, there is a fix for some missing textures, so you want to make sure to install that as well. There are some notes on the mod page about that. :)

Oh, sorry to hear that. It could be lots of things, conflicts with other mods (are you using weather mods?), or load order of mods. It might be a good idea to post on the Steam forums for the game, as there are people there who are very knowledgable about the game with regards to technical issues.

Hello. I have installed the mods exactly as shown (winter base mod, heavy winter and the roads) but I'm getting green textures in Montana (fields, hills are in green colours) :/

There are some occasional color overlays that the mod can't change, apparently because of the way that SCS colorizes some textures. So you occasionally see patches of snow that are yellowish or greenish. They are usually minor though, and overall the mod looks pretty good. That's not what you're seeing? You're seeing lots of issues? The most common cause for what you mention is mis-matched versions, but I assume you've got v1.46 of both the game and the mod?

Hey just watched your video I done everything u done and when I clicked start download after I created the download link it popped up that my antivirus protection blocked a virus

Hmm. That's odd. Two thoughts... 1 - Did you click on the exact correct link on the download site, the orange-ish yellow one in the middle of the screen? Some of the ads on those downloads sites can look like downloads, but they are not. So if you don't have an ad blocker running on your browser and you click on one of the ads pretending to be a download, you could end up who knows where and it wouldn't surprise me that a virus warning pops up. 2 - If you did click on exactly the correct link and got a warning, I'm not quite sure what to say. I just checked it again now for me, and it downloads fine, and it's the correct file. I don't get any warnings of any sort and the file doesn't trigger any virus alerts after scanning. I suppose it's possible that your virus software is set too sensitively, but you might want to post a comment on Grimes' site asking him if he knows anything about why people might get a virus warning. I suspect he's had people mention it before if it's happened to you.

I finally got it to work. I won't post all the info here because it's a pretty long directory chain you have to go through because the Steam Deck uses Linux. Anyway I've got snow on my roads now so thanks for the info!

This happens when the game and mod version don't match. The game is on version 1.47 and the mod is on version 1.46, so they currently don't match. We have to wait until the mod author updates the mod to version 1.47. I've not seen this happen when the game version and the mod version match, so I'd double check those numbers. If they are indeed the same, I'd recommend asking on Grimes' mod site for help.

I tried downloading the mod and it keeps crashing to desktop, even with the proper load order. Even if I make it the only mod I have, it still crashes. Even if I load a no-mod save file it still crashes. Not sure what's wrong with my computer. I have an RTX 2080 Ti, I7-9700k, 32 GB RAM 3200 Mhz, so I know my hardware is not the problem.

Happy to help. That’s caused by a mismatch between the mod version and your game version. You want to make sure they are the same. Current game version is 1.48.5 and you want to make sure you install the mod for version 1.48.5.

I think it's better to remove any mods that haven't been updated yet. So take the snow mod out until it gets updated to 1.47. It usually takes a couple of weeks for the developer to update the mod.

apologies, the reason why the mod was causing the game to crash was because i accidentally installed the wrong version, so i installed the correct version for the game and it works fine

Hmm. If the load order is correct, then perhaps there is a game setting for general traction that could impact this? Maybe look in your settings for gameplay and see if some setting could connect to driving traction/friction or something? I can look as well the next time I play but I don't have the game handy at the moment.

As of 10/30/23, the current version of the mod isn't compatible with the latest version of the game, we're in a "wait until the mod gets updated" stage. The mod author has posted that he's working on the updates.

For the ShareMods site, I strongly recommend using an adblocker, or pay the $1 to Grimes to get the direct download. While the ShareMods site is safe, they have a lot of ads and those ads are dubious. If you use ShareMods and don't have an adblocker, be sure to click only on the correct links. :)

I wish I could help, but there could be dozens of things causing a game to crash like that. This mod shouldn't cause issues unless there is a conflict with other mods. (Other weather mods will definitely cause problems.) I'd recommend asking on the Steam forums or the SCS forums for help. They will have way more experience trouble-shooting than I have. Good luck!

Well, to be fair, anything can break your computer if you try. :) The biggest place to be careful is downloading the file, as those hosting sites can have a lot of ad links that take you to places you don't want to go. If you follow the instructions here correctly, though, you should have no problems. Having said that, you take responsibility for what you put on your computer. However, the last time I checked the mod developer hadn't updated the mod for the latest version of the game (probably because it's summer here), so we need to wait until he updates it.

Happy to help! Every once in a while someone posts about getting a virus because of this process and mod, so I'll post the thing I always post in reply... 1. Thousands of people have installed Grimes' mods without problems. He is a trusted developer who has been creating mods for ATS and ETS2 for years. His reputation is solid, his files are fine, and his download links are fine. You can see the comments on his Wordpress site over the years and they all praise his work. 2. Most people saying "I got a virus from this" have had issues with the not installing it correctly. Things to check: - Game version and mod version must be the same - The mod conflicting with other mods - Mod order

You know, I am having trouble downloading this and I think you should have put in your video that you need to have a cloud share subscription or a cloud sharing platform subscription; or create download link won't work.

Happy to help. I just checked it and it's working fine for me, and I don't have a subscription with the service. Are you running an ad blocker on the site? I've noticed that Share Mods is almost unusable if you don't run an ad blocker. Strongly recommend adding one and trying that way. It's something I mention in all my more recent tutorials, but this one was done over a year ago.

I don't know what you did to get a virus on your computer, but the mod files are not the source. The developer has been developing mods for ETS2 and ATS for years. His reputation is solid, his files are fine, and his download links are fine. 2 - Your game will behave funny if the mod version isn't the correct one for the game. You definitely want to check that. 3 - If you aren't using an ad blocker, the hosting site for the mod files has a ton of ads, and those ads can definitely lead you to places you don't want to go. I'd strongly recommend using an ad blocker while on that site, but if you don't, be careful what you click on while on that site.

His reputation is solid, his files are fine, and his download links are fine. 2 - As I mention in the video, you must make sure that the version of the mod that you download matches the current version of the game. Currently ATS and ETS2 are on 1.48. His mod hasn't been updated yet to work with this new version. This means that the mod will not currently work until he updates it. If you try to install it now on version 1.48 you will get various display problems that can look like a virus (pink skies, etc.). The mod developer updates the mod regularly, but sometimes it can take him a couple of weeks or longer if he is busy or there are a lot of changes that need to be made.
