You are correct! The mig welder they are using MIGHT be good for up to 3/8" material...They need to step it up with a stick unit and some quality rods and have an experienced welder burn that baby in... Goodbye crankshaft!

Do you think you could do this with a modern engine without throwing a rod or worse quicker, if the piece of rail hadn't come off would of gone for way longer as the starter look like it did the damage.
