I had my bib, clarified butter and lemon all ready. 😋 What a delightful guest Jon Provost was -- warm sense of humor and a good sport -- seems to be a sweet, friendly fellow. The last time I saw Jon was as a kid during his "Lassie" days; it's great to see him in such fine health and shape at age 72. The movie was not half bad; but, then again, it's hard to miss with a Roger Corman B-movie. 🌟

I saw this when I was a child and other movies like bela Lugosi. Long Chaney Boris Karloff, etc. etc. I was not aloud to play with the other children, only when I went school. In other words, I was not aloud to have any type of friends.

First time seeing this series of "Creatures Features" selection: "Attack of the Crab Monsters" (1957) directed by Richard Corman...Seems like about half of the 1950's and early 1960's Sci-Fi movies plots were "things" caused by atomic bomb blast sessions. Yep...the world did not know the actual effects of the A-bombs and its companion: the H-bomb. This movie - " the clicking crabs" have that same causes. It did have a few upcoming stars that made this kinda worth watching. I'll tell you...I'm 72 and I have seen a number of Sci-Fi movies in my time. In the 60's and some of the 70's, I remember when I lived in Indy, there was a TV (WTTV-4) scary movie shows fellow called, Sammy Terry. What a hoot! He eventually got replaced by sexy attractive Elvira. She had the looks...Terry had the jokes and great spooky laugh. My favorites of the Sci-Fi flicks are several...naming a few: " The Day the Earth Stood Still" (1951); " Forbidden Planet" (1956); " The Incredible Shrinking Man" (1958?); and, probably my favorite, "Journey to the Center of the Earth" (1959) where the Bernard Herrmann composed music is fantastic even still...that famous Herrmann style. Jon Provost...I do remember him well in the TV CBS series " Lassie". My folks and I saw him in the Summer of 1965 as a Hollywood guest star at, I think the name of the place was, Guntown in western North Carolina. I do have one of the handout Bill's the employees were handing out before entering the Western town set-ups. It's not too hard to find in my memories boxes in the basement. Also, Jon's starring in Disney's 1969 movie: "The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes" . Funny movie... [As my wife and I are watching this "Crab" movie, I see that " the professor " finally got a tune in with the Gilligan Island radio with the Hawaiian Islands. Yeah! ] Hope your series continues well. It's produced fairly well, I see.

Notice the stock footage lightening strike at 23:06? It has been used on hundreds of horror movies and television shows since the 1950s. Still used today occasionally on KZbin uploads. By the way, I am trying to compile a list of movies, such as this one, and television series, such as "Charmed" circa 1990, that have used this particular snipit of lightning strike stock footage over the decades. If anyone comes across of a particular sighting please drop me a response to this comment as to the title and approximate location of said lightening strike stock footage in whatever movie, or tv episode, that you happen to encounter it. I will be most grateful.

I vividly recall seeing this film as a child in the 1960s. I remember that towards the end of the film, during a confrontation with the crab monster, it is speaking in the voices of the people it has consumed, AND their faces are superimposed on the monster as it uses their voices. As a kid, I found this effect surreal and creepy. However, no recent print of this film seems to retain that weird effect. I'd say I just imagined it or misremembered, but I spoke to a friend who also recalls seeing that same specific effect. I wonder if anyone has a notion of WHY that element was apparently edited out of the current prints of this silly, but rather entertaining film?
