A wise decision to leave this one for the DOT. If you'd gotten bitten or stuck, you'd have some difficulty getting to safety. Thanks for the knowledge and respect you show for spiders and animals, most people just kill them as a reflex without understanding the behaviors they're seeing. We're in their world in the wild. Love the butterfly feeding on the dandelion at the end :) Great vid, Post!

Mice don’t bother me, snakes don’t either, but I will climb the walls to get away from a spider! Lol I don’t like rats either, ugh, but spiders I will scream for someone to come get it. I live in NC. WE have black widows, writer spiders, brown recluse and giant wolf spiders! I used to work at the Grand Canyon, South Rim, and we would find nests of tarantulas under beds in the guest rooms. Those things jump too! I was taking my room mate up the shop on the west rim and it was early morning, they were in the road by the hundreds and jumped on the car. I was freaked out! PS- We have these type of drainage pipes in NYS - and there are several types of HUUUUUUUGE SPIDERS that live in there - and hang out on the pipe sides and top itself. Not one or two types-- but MANY! I have seen them jump out at you at lightning speed. _FREAKY!_ Our pipes are shorter (as they are under the road -- NOT a "Beaver Deceiver" pipe....so we could avoid them.a wee bit faster than you!!! 🕷😟🕷😵🕷😟🕷💀 _With a flip-flop that scary , the spiders probably thought you were the "other one"... a non-descript horrendous monster ready to attack!!_

How about a crossbow? - shoot a dart up the pipe past the blockage, then snag it on the inlet and attach a grapple and pull the grapple from the downstream end - to dislodge the blockage? Just as you had a plywood shield to create a massive backup/release; how about a circular wire mess to drop down / stand on - for protection? lnd climbing rig to lower and raise yourself to do the destructo work? maybe put in a hinge on the shield - open and lock for working - fold for travel & carry?
