My dad bought a gen 1 sega cd when it came out. It had my favorite shooter sol feace and versions of genesis games with the best soundtrack. The start up screen holds as much of special place as the ps1 start up screens.

TG CD launched with just Monster Lair and Fighting Street, but Ys may as well be called a launch title since that's when we were actually shown what the thing could do. I remember the EGM where Ed gave it a 10. Same issue Ninja Spirit got a 10. I was with my genesis buddy when i picked up that issue!

Nice, Destroy All Humans is getting an HD remaster soon, too, though it's just the first one. I think Destroy All Humans 2 is a bit more fun, more snappy and quick, but they're both good. Gotta love the voice actor for Crypto, so surly.

Sonic CD was overrated compared to some of the games on the system...Shining Force CD, Final Fight, Dune, Time Gal, Revenge of the Ninja, Jurassic Park, Corpse Killer, Mortal Kombat CD, Eternal Champions CD, talkie Eye of the Beholder, Dungeon Master 2, Dark Wizard! Sega CD was where it was at back in the day even without Sonic...I liked Sonic 2 better for the multiplayer personally, Sonic CD needed that.

Edit: Just watched 17mins more of the vid and it looks like you were dealing with top tier vegans. I'm probably a lowly level 3 or something. Sega CD had great sound and music, you should try Silpheed it's a shooter, tried it in emulation, some great games on the systems but a lot were ports with better sound like Nhl 94 it's the best version to have.

Silpheed is one of the greatest shooters of all time! And for me personally, (alongside Lunar) to own a Sega CD! The pageantry of that game at the time was absolutely astounding! Not to mention the in-game music (NOT THE REDBOOK AUDIO, BUT CHIPTUNES!!!), especially level 5-8 were some of the most badass experiences you could have while playing a game. There's not a day in my life that goes by where I would be sad if I were forced to sit down and play only that game all day.
