"I'm not afraid" was spoken in the kanto dialect. It's a dialect in Japan usually spoken by people from the countryside, and it's lowkey looked down upon, because it's not very formal and stuff (it's the way Sasha speaks). This ties in to the scene where Ymir tried to make Sasha speak like she usually do, instead of faking her dialect to be accepted. In this scene Historia "broke free" and started living for herself, and the voiceactor showed this by using the Kanto dialect! It's probably only japanese people and extreme weebs like myself that noticed that lol

Eren knew it was all his sudden decision to attack and and because of that he dragged survey corps into it. He was scarred by her death. He did not want to involve them again in his Machiavellian plan again. Plus he knows Mikasa has Ackerbond with him. But as you know Levi let Erwin die and Armin live. So Mikasa is not a slave but she loves Eren unconditionally and he is her only family. There were many times she did not listen to Eren and did what she like. It's the fact that Eren spoke such words itself was the reason why Mikasa was super hurt. And thanks to Armin she is cool again. TBH I want to see her independent and not toally go Eren for sometime too. Though she still loves Eren. So it's all for the greater good.

Izaya Orihara you're pretty short-sighted when it comes to character realization... Yes, Hannes was afraid, but at that moment before, he did meant to save Carla, but was pleaded by her to save Eren and Mikasa so they will survive. We all know Hannes is NOT LEVI, so going up against the Smiling Titan alone is not a wise choice, so the practical action was to save them and live to fight another day, which exactly what he did five years later, again saving Eren and Mikasa, and he did it with much bravery and fierce devotion as their protector, but also with over zealous confidence and recklessness, costing him his life... saw how he threw himself between the Titan and them, stopping it's hand dead in it's tracks, then pushing it away like Superman? Tell me, which of the main characters can or do what he did? The closest one was Eren saving Armin from getting swallowed whole by a Titan during the battle of Trost. Reiner and Bertholdt say they are warriors, but A true warrior is one who will sacrifice himself so others will live... Hannes was such a man who did.

After Carla's death, the fall of wall Maria, he quit drinking, and became a better, dedicated, braver soldier. He sworn he will get Eren back, even it meant him sacrificing his own life. It was he himself who declared he was a 'coward'. People are quick to judge others by their actions, but not by their true and just intentions. Hannes was a imperfect, but good hearted man who cared for the trio. If had he not saved Eren and Mikasa the first time, this story would've ended right then and there.

Because they wanted Carla to escape, along with 'Where ever Eren goes, Mikasa goes' they weren't budging. So, who is the one who had to finally snatched them away from danger? Let me point out It not so much that he is a 'beloved character' to me, it is just how unappreciated he and other secondary characters are... All overshadowed by the 'ErenXMikasa', 'ErenXLevi', ErenXHistoria' hyper fandom...
