I teared up a whopping three times in this episode, the first time when Niccolo was screaming about how Sasha saved him from the war and about how Gabi took her away from him, then at Mr. Blouse's speech, and finally when I heard Kaya's gutwrenching screams. That's when all those built up tears finally fell, and they didn't really dry until a while after the episode was over.

It's so interesting to see the changes in theme throughout the seasons. The first three, broadly speaking, were about freedom. Now, with season 4, it seems like it's shifted to how war and violence will just continue in the world, unless the cycle is broken. Mr. Braus really just cemented it

You know, Isayama really made Sasha shine. She was hardly a character as developed as Armin but I used to think Sasha was kinda like the light of main group who kept things easy. A fun character, a mood maker. I was wrong. Sasha is among the very few people who was a genuine light in this fucked world of SnK and the very main example of Eldians not being devils. She broke the chains of hatred binding Nicolo. And then we have her father displaying uncontested kindness and understanding towards both Gabi and him. Like father like daughter. Braus family is the best.

She died in the war and her body was buried and what little peace the family had was the idea that she was a soldier and soldiers die in wars unfortunately... But then to face the person who killed your daughter and to do the honorable thing and spare that person’s life is grief exponentially experienced.. You’re metaphorically picking at a wound that was stitched two days ago... This transitioned beautifully and the ost created and recreated by you to grip us back to that moment, great job... Same, it’s seeing the pain caused by Gabi’s actions that really hurt. Poor niccolo found his happiness and Gabi took that, by committing revenge for her fallen friends she caused others to wish for her death as revenge. Also just seeing the family in so much pain and the cries of Kaya in the background was so sad 😭 Yeah Sasha death came as a shock but damn the aftermath hurts

@@boianko Killing Gabi is not just revenge though. She's the most competent Warrior candidate in Marley. A literal elite soldier with near inhuman levels of patriotic zeal. She singlehandedly has killed 3 survey corps members and destroyed an armored train. She is hands down the best sniper in the entirety of Attack on Titan. Marley itself is launching it's attack early to save the Warrior candidates because their strategic importance is so high. The right choice on a moral and strategic level is to kill Gabi.

@@viorp5267 I have no idea how you got the "she's the best sniper" idea exactly, considering the fact that we see no other characters that use weapons similar to hers on Marley's side. Yes she's good Additionally, I have no idea in what fucked up world killing a 12-year old child can ever be considered to be the "right moral choice". There is such a thing as a prisoner of war, so killing her just for being on the enemy's side is not really strategically necessary when they have her captured.

I waited a long time to listen to this one because this part was so heartbreaking; this whole episode was, honestly. Don't get me wrong; it was very well done, and listening to your AoT covers, in particular, helped me process everything. But this part was so hard that I just subconsciously hesitated to even process it, I guess. But now that I finally have listened to it, it really helps. Mr. Braus's monologue - this whole scene, actually - is, to me, the summarized warning of the entire show about the consequences of prejudice, racism, hatred, and war. And this song articulates that warning perfectly. Thanks for putting such care into your work and helping us all process this remarkable story and its important messages.
