It's wild my left side has always been my weak side but since I've been training peekaboo I am getting decent power out of my lead jabs.

I use 1st one a lot in sparring, cause in my gym they're all taught to cover well, so, counter punch to the body are best way to start the attack or 7-8 to make them lift the arms

Or spring to the side and use a lead hook counter then rear hook or cross.

Hello sir, yesterday I did my first hard sparring. It was very good experience for me as a guy who had very less fights in his life. I have been learning mma for 3 months and I recently watched your videos, they inspired me to use peekaboo style. However, whenever I try to go close to my opponent they just go back and they throw punches. I have experienced this many times in light and touch sparring and I am not sure how to deal with it. Whenever I side step the opponent just create a space and throw punches, I think my footwork is slow and I am not fast enough. So, what should I do to become lightning fast? I would appreciate if i can get some tips from you and I am very thankful to you sir have a good day.
@madhookersboxingmartialarts5 ай бұрын
It's hard to assess your situation without seeing footage of your sparring. However, you did not mention the jab, you have to use the jab to get close to your opponent. Work the jab and then the double jab to get close. Also the more you spar a guy who boxes in the outside you will get better on closing the gap.

Why are there specific counts of slipping after each of the combos? Sometimes two, sometimes three? Or pairing combos specifically with the ducking/weave? Or is it just part of the numbering system as a style, eg each number just has a specific dodge count for no particular reason or to form a habit.
@madhookersboxingmartialarts5 ай бұрын
It's just a starting point. Getting in the habit of moving your head after the last punch. Once you train in the system you want to start mixing up your head movement to be more unpredictable

@@madhookersboxingmartialarts Yes sure, I would like to see a video about head or footwork rhythm, for the peekaboo. In your 102 peekaboo video (12:40), you mentioned not to be stiff like a robot, but instead light, loose, and fast on your feet. Could you please go more into detail about this? What are the do's and don'ts? What's considered too loose or too stiff? For example, in Russian boxing style, they use the Pendulum Bounce (in and out footwork movement) PS: Thank you for everything I've learned so much because of you.

I wanna know how to bob and weave low enough because I have a TOO big head. pls lemme know coach.
@madhookersboxingmartialarts5 ай бұрын
To Bob and weave properly you got to bend the knees but also hinge at the waist a little bit. But you got to keep your head up especially in amateur boxing cuz the referees will call you if you put your head down
