I feel like this expansion was a real passion project for some or all of the sims team, I was a bit sceptical of it when first announced, but actually there's a lot more depth than I was expecting, like the riddles on the tarot card collection.

That’s exactly what I was thinking! This pack feels like whoever made it had genuine love and excitement for this game. It didn’t feel like a cash grab like so many other packs. I truly hope this team gets to do more packs that they love!

So, this is all 22 of the Major Arcana, plus 4 cards representing the Minor Arcana's suits (Wands, Cups, Swords, and either Pentacles or Coins.) Some cards are called exactly what their common IRL counterparts are (Moon, Wheel of Fortune, Empress, etc), some are slightly altered (The High Spellcaster instead of the High Priestess,) and some are fully name changed, but convey the same idea (The Devil card is now the Evil card, the Hierophant seems to have become the Advocate, and, funnily enough, The Hanged Man appears to have been renamed Suspension). The Minor Arcana cards seem to be based on the Aces of each suit, though its hard to tell without a more detailed look. I think it was SimGuruBat who made all the art for the cards, as well as some of the CAS, and they did such a great job with these, I am obsessed how beautiful these cards are (I love Bat, she's great, favorite SimGuru!)

Do you know why they changed Hierophant to Advocate? Google tells me a hierophant is like a priest, but I don’t see how Advocate is a similar word for that. Maybe there’s a different meaning.

I'm caught on the little detail where you can open Starter Flower packs in the Cemetary for a guaranteed Deathflower. No more grafting or hoping it stocks in the Realm of Magic.

@@veycell They only put that telephone option in when they released the reaper ambrosia quest thing that had been going on for a couple weeks. I hope they remove it from the phone options now that the quest is over; it made it RIDICULOUSLY too easy to get death flowers. Honestly, if you completed the quest and used this option, you cheated, even though EA coded the option into the phone. You cheated; you know you did.

They went all out with this collection, and I love it! I was expexting just to pick a card with the sim reacting with some random animation. But they have actual pop ups for the readings and included reversed cards too. As someone who has a deck irl, I love this!

My future spellcaster was born last night so I think she'll get her some tarot cards as a teen. Also, seeing the specter home again brought back memories. Olive was the first of 2 sims that died and gave me the game over screen. The second happened in front of my husband and shocked him.

I never do the collections...up until now...I can't wait to take my time in discovering this collection....I will savour every moment...I am an intuitive tarot reader (I have just under 35 packs, I love the artistry of them all, I would love if this pack was real) and my favourite colours are burgundy and gold...I love the ornate not too over the top...this is my expansion pack no question about that...I'm like you Kayla, I get so exited with things that resonates with me. I've been playing The Sims from the beginning..I'm 61 now, I play it differently now, slower taking my time to finish stuff, less cheats. Thank you Thank you Thank you for doing this video.

You get plenty of variations of deck that are only the major arcana. I think the addition of the aces for each card are a really clever way to incorporate the minor without having to go overboard -- I'd almost rather this than them having a playing card styled "there are five cups on this five of cups and three cups on this three" etc. I can see setting up a few really interesting spreads with this variation of deck style. :)

Almost all of the videos that I see from lilsimsie, is where she builds houses and lots. And she is really great at it, very good eye for details, and very knowledgeable about the cheats and build mode. It's really nice to see some videos where she goes into CAS designs and actually plays a household. I enjoy seeing how she solves problems with the build, and it is also enjoyable to see how she thinks with the households. I've learned a lot from this lady.

I love the new hairstyles! They somehow have a big forehead. I have such a big forehead and finally I get haistyles that really fit my self-sim :) Infact, the sim in this playthrough lookes very much like me (haircolor, bodytype) and this is why I like to watch this even more. I have never tried to complete a collection. I didn't even know about the collections until a few years back, and it took me a while to figure out how to access the collections menu. From what I've heard, there really isn't any benefit to collecting them. It's just the right to brag, and no one else will ever know about it because there's no achievement for it. As lilsimsie said, doing a lot of the collections is mostly a pain in the neck. Since I found out about the collections, I keep telling myself that I'll give it a go, then I'm dealing with numerous bugs and glitches, and I forget about it. Major LOL!

as a person who love the tarot, and has a few decks of my own, and a life long simmer, (I've been playing Sims games since 1997, with SimCity) I wish this deck was Merch. I would get it in a heart beat. I wish doing tarot reading was like a side job, or even a "part time" job, where your skill can grow over time. I just got the pack this weekend, I'm not sure what aspects of the game I want to start with there are so many ways to "start" the pack.... but I know I am going to have fun no matter what.

In other games that I have played in the past, I had the ability to zoom in on each collectible. It's would be awesome if Maxis gave us this ability. It makes the collectible that much more realistic when the player can zoom in and even rotate the objects. But, who knows, it might make the game more unstable? It's just an interesting idea.

In tarot you typically have 78 cards with 22 of them being major arcana and the rest being divided amongst 4 minor arcana. Rather then this they seem to have used the 22 major arcana and bundled up the minor arcana cards into their own card.

This is the first sims 4 pack I ever bought. Been a simmer since sims 3 and own most of the dlc for that one but never felt much for 4 like most people. This dlc is so much fun and changes gameplay experience perfectly for me. Previous expansions I feel like are just poor imitations of dlc we have already experienced. This feels original but at the same time still fits into the sims cannon. Not feeling awkward or “too new”. Life and death is everything I want out of a sims expansion. New gameplay that enhances the original game. I also see this becoming a STAPLE. We will never get it but if sims 5 ever comes out this would be a pack people would beg for I think. If life and death debuted in sims 2 it would be seasons/uni/pets/generations type DLc legacy imo. Just me?
