This video brings back so many good memories. I raced the psychosis in '99. I recall someone took a photo of me rolling over the big rock at 18:33 of the video - the best part was we were given paper dinner plates to use as number plates! The trail and racing was raw back then. Thanks Remy!

@jonykaos
@jonykaos 2 жыл бұрын
@@mumblerocks77 TBH, we didn't know how steep it was until we arrived the evening before the race and rode some practices sessions. We had already paid entry fee and accommodations so we were at the point of no-return. Of the mere mortals who raced, those who cleaned the top section basically won. Finishing times were around 15 minutes if you rode it clean. I remember the wrist pump being so bad by the time I reached the finish, I couldn't even pull the brake levers.

Your a great rider. Looks like fun- though after my mTBI, I would not dream to ever do that. Every time you pasted a tree at speed, my head hurt. You have no idea until you hit your head how quickly your life can change. 3 years out I am better but still not the same. I use to be just as fearless as you- ski off cliffs, mountain bikes, jump motorcycles, judo, you name it. When you get a bit older, you value things differently. Now I am more into fitness, running, nutrition (I used for healing), my dog and my guitar! Stay safe- Cheers!

Yeah red clay in any type of wet is just absolute death. I kinda got used to it (I bring out the twitchy-electrified-chicken technique as needed nowadays) as I cut my teeth free riding a gorge with dirt very similar to that and its just so damn insane how little traction you get once you add a bit of H2O to the mix. Nice in the summer though, but I feel the loamy type pine forests are a lot nicer to ride in pretty much all weather. Sweet riding as usual :) Amazing spot too.
