Dear Bo: I do believe that Hyphessobrycon amandae is an egg-scattering species, like Hyphessobrycon columbianus. I found that the easiest way to collect their eggs is by doing gravel vacuums, of the gravel substrate, in the tank they inhabit and saving the collected water in a fry-starter-tank. I succeeded in breeding Columbian tetra, for years, that way. Thank you for sharing this, terrific and informative experiment in breeding ember tetra. All my best, Sincerely, E. J. Brinegar

Dear Brinegar, yes, Tetras are all egg-scattering fish. This is my first time breeding tetra fish using spawning mops. Perhaps I lack experience, or maybe these fish are not well-suited for breeding with spawning mops. It seems that spawning mops did not work as intended in the video. Thank you for your long-time support!

Dear Bo: Hey, please check out my friend, Charles' new, KZbin Channel. I'm helping him set up a fish wall and several, other tanks. It's going to be interesting, seeing what he comes up with. Here is a link to his channel: www.youtube.com/@CHAZGENTRY Thank you. Sincerely, Brinegar

Thank you for your continued support, Jack and Dan! You're right, I didn't get as many as I wanted, but I'm still happy that I was able to get some. It's all part of the learning process, and I'll keep working to improve my techniques. Thanks again for your support, and have a great day!

I had a great success in breeding my Inpaichthys kerri in a bare tank with some spawning mops

Great job on successfully breeding your Inpaichthys kerri! This is my first time breeding with spawning mops. Perhaps I should cover the entire tank with spawning mops next time so that there won't be many eggs eaten by the fish.
