You admitting to being slow and being fine with it is what made me hit subscribe. SO TIRED of "crochet this in xyz hours" things. I want to see people work on things at their own pace and take their time!
@BreathingYarn10 ай бұрын
Thank you for saying that. I had someone I know tell me my videos should lean more towards the “crochet this in xyz hours” and I just laughed at them. That’s sooo not me. People are going to watch me struggle because that’s what feels right for me. I struggle, I fail, I’m slow.
@MorriganSlayde10 ай бұрын
@@BreathingYarn Oh please don't! I know it's good for algorithms and stuff so you do you to make that money, but I (as one small viewer) really love your "Yep I'm slow, that's who I am, deal with it" attitidue. I am slow too, maybe that's why I care - but the point of crochet is to take time to create is it not? Why would I want to make a jumper in 12 hours when I could spend weeks making the perfect one for me? If we rush crafting, we don't get to craft as long!! I guess the next new shiny project will always tempt us...but let's be real, it is a joy to look around and see the love and work we put into the decor of our house - the crochet "swatches" we turned into coasters that started our vest..the random crochet flowers everywhere because a mood struck one week... why should the memory be "Oh that's the jumper I made in 12 hours that stressed me out for a video" instead of "that's the jumper that was a struggle but I worked with it slowly and learned to cable!" But maybe its just me...

@@MorriganSlayde So well said, and I couldnt agree more 🥰

And working fast can cause some gnarly wrist strain, too! These aren't crafts that are meant to go fast. Yes, some folks really are just faster, and that's ok, but it's also OK to go slow. And what's the point of making our own things, if we get bogged down in the need to always produce the most as quick as we can?

New fan here 🙋🏻♀️ love your videos ❤ I only do miniature knitting for my dolls but I hope some day I get the courage and the patience (and the needles) to make it person size 😅 I have 4 cats and one of them is particularly attached to me so is always with me, he always chews the yarn when I'm knitting and I notices like you said: when I feel the yarn wet 🙃 Love your rough ❤ the sweater is amazing 😮 I'm glad your husband loved it 😊

Your rug is stunning 😍 it makes me want to make one, it adds such a cosy vibe! The cat I adopted when I was in high school some 13 years ago is at my parents house (and I miss having a cat so much 🥲), but when I knit there she's not too much into my yarn 😂 she always demands to be stroked but *we* need to lower to *her* level, so she's not much on the sofa, and so out of yarn's way 🤭 Also, it feels good to hear you're a selfish knitter, I think I kinda am too but don't wanted to admit it 🙄 the thing is I'm far less motivated to knit something that's not for me, even though at first I really want to make it for the person.
@BreathingYarn3 ай бұрын
Exactly! I feel like I agreed to make things for others way too much at the beginning and I was genuinely excited but then when it came time to actually make the item, I had 0% motivation. Also, I love that your cat is a “you come to me” not the other way around kind of cat. That’s like my Merry, she won’t come to us but she begs for attention.
@chloebtvs3 ай бұрын
@@BreathingYarn I can feel that! Except people didn't really ask me to make them things, it was rather gifts (mostly for friends' newborns, and a pair of socks for a friend that's still a wip) I decided alone to make. But from now on I'll be sure to think twice before offering to make something/starting a gift 🤭 How cute 🥰🐱
