Trees do tend to have more visibility when it’s super cloud covered. Better to be distance

Exactly, visibility is a lot better in the trees. They give a static reference point and color contrast to the snow

I always go into the trees on days with bad visibility, it makes it way easier to see.

Also one tends to ski slower in the trees which helps one not overski their vision.

Those have been around for years. I remember doing a demo day at Big Bear in the 90s. They were quite fun. If you know how to inline skate, it feels natural. Even did the bumps backwards with those on. So much fun but terribly inefficient and gimmicky. poles not needed btw.

I used stolts last year in the same conditions, so crazy, I finally got the hang of them but you gotta go down steeps that are groomed, powder is a no go 🙅‍♂️ and I sold them shortly after 😂

I had some Sleddogs. Even up a size and fully expanded they wouldnt fit my foot. Tried a run anyway, super fun but a lot of work. Thighs get tired. If youre a hockey player its easier though. I got halfway down and put my hiking boots on cause they cramped my foot so bad. Id love to see something in between blades and the strictly underfoot ones
