Personally, I think the build came out looking great. I appreciate you pointing out your mistakes as that helps me work through and avoid some of those same mistakes that I constantly make. So, thanks for sharing your craft and time with us.

Another thing - 1. I'd love that source as well! 2. Use your building end as a reference and you can make the same shape and since the building is not attached, you can hot glue it into the center for the support you need. Happy holidays Mattster!

First of your Vids I have watched - and you have a new subscriber - really enjoyed it! Only negative (for me anyway) was your sound levels, I found the music good but way louder than your spoken parts, so as I watched on my TV (with the family in the same room) I was constantly having to turn it up and down. Perhaps thats just me though :-)

Good build! If you take the time to cut the lines where you want to separate stucco from wood, you can press the stucco down a bit deeper and the wood will be higher up

Have you ever crafted an under ground fallout bunker? I this idea for a post apocalyptic campaign that takes players into a role of survivor and scavenger as they emerge from a bunker where they are only 'safe' to explore the new surface of earth during the night (for a yet to be discovered reason) The players will have their central bunker to return to each day for safety (if they manage their time well) as they explore their new surroundings

No I haven’t but it’s certainly a great idea! I’ve definitely considered making some sci-fi or post-apocalyptic stuff.

Yeah our foam is really better for additive things, unless you wanted to carve it out with a rotary tool or burn it out with a wood burner or soldering iron... either one more of a pain than just adding on thin strips for timbers, and also more health concerns. Making the roof sheathing out of chipboard instead of the really thin foam would have helped it be more sturdy. I've also forgotten to texture stone before painting, I "fixed" it by adding a slightly lighter kitchen sponge dab before the wash. It's a cheat but it works.

Hi, terrific way to go about at least your not a perfectionist like so many others. I have found that using model RC aircraft foam from Hobby King. they have both 5mm as well as 10mm. im just starting on Helms Deep project it works very well.. tell me how to get in touch with you and I can hook you up.

Nice little build! I tend to use coffee sticks for timbers rather than draw them in, just because it adds a bit of weight and rigidity. Currently got a big bit of 10mm for starting some Frostgrave ruins... I like the windows. Never used UV resin myself, I usually leave them as mesh.

I have to ask since this is one of the things holding me back from crafting: where do you find the space to store all your miniatures after you're done using them?
@TheDungeonMattster
@TheDungeonMattster 4 жыл бұрын
I don’t. Lol I’m currently starved for space in my already overcrowded basement. And since I suck at staying organized, all my crafts get shoved on a single shelving unit while the minis end up in totes.

D&D takes up for me three areas in my house. The room the kids play xbox stores all my minis, I use my loft for crafting storing crafting material 3d printer and such and I am using my diningroom hutch to store all made terrain crafts :(. I wish I had a basement. I don't think most people have room for crafting :)

No worries. I used some clear polyester resin I had purchased from Michael’s. I placed the “windows” on the parchment paper and poured the mixed resin over the top. I made sure not to over do it and let the resin sink into the recesses. Once it cured I trimmed away any excess. Hope this helps! 😃

Dude...you might want to ditch the music for something a bit more universally tolerable to the ears of your audience. You do great work, but by the 12 minute mark I stopped watching as I tired of turning the volume up and down. I wanted to hear what you were saying, but I REALLY didn't want to listen to the background music.
