I remember the first time I went to the glen and so surprised that you can literally go anywhere. I was standing on pit wall during practice with a Porsche team with a jack and coke in my hand 😂

the general admission tickets let you get onto the track and pits right? can you still see that stuff with just the 2 day pass?

Green is at 1:40pm. We got there around 11 and we’re able to go down into the bowl and see the parade. I would get there earlier, maybe closer to 10am. 4-day pass likely covers all of the other IMSA races going on; Spec MX-5 and Carrera Cup and Pilot Challenge and all those.

Hey! So I'm going to the race next week and was wondering whats the best way to split up the day. Obviosuly I want to see the start and finsih, but also want to see some middle of the night action. Can you enter and leave at anytime?

Yeah we parked I believe in field 4, right by the big solar array and went back and forth to the car a few times to warm up or grab snacks. I’m not sure if you can leave the grounds in your car and come back, but my hunch is that you’d lose your parking spot real quick. There’s a lot of stuff within walking distance.

Midnight to 3am? I watched the fireworks at midnight and couldn’t feel my feet it was so cold so we had to vacate and warm up. When the sun comes up was when it got wild because it was so cold the sudden temperature made the track look like they were on ice. It was blast either way. It should be 20 degrees warmer this year.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that questions where they put the podium. It felt anti-climatic after watching 24 hours of racing last week to realize that I wouldn't really be able to see the podium without getting to a TV.

Considering the fact that F1 drivers sometimes watch the video screens (hence Alonso being able to comment on Stroll's race), I wouldn't be surprised if they took a peek at the fireworks under caution.
