This has major spoilers, but you probably knew that, so I'm mostly putting warning this here for anyone else who doesn't want spoilers. Sleekwhisker, as an apprentice, thought that her leader, Rowanstar, was a bad leader. She found him pathetic, selfish, and thought that he didn't care about his clan. She felt as though she never got the attention she deserved from anyone, and became so bitter that she disowned StarClan. When Darktail (the main villain of A Vision of Shadows) offers Sleekpaw to leave ShadowClan and join his group, she jumps at the chance and adopts the name Sleekwhisker. She liked that someone finally paid attention to her and appreciated her. She dedicated her time to trying to rip apart the Clans, believing that they were unnecessary. Eventually, Rowanstar realizes how shoddy of a leader he was, and believing that he didn't deserve a leader name, reverted to being called Rowanclaw. When Darktail dies, Sleekwhisker still continues her quest. She kidnaps Rowanclaw's mate, Tawnypelt, as well as two innocent kits, and holds them hostage. When Rowanclaw and his patrol go to save them, Sleekwhisker tells Rowanclaw that he must either give up his life to save Tawnypelt's, or have Tawnypelt die right before his eyes. Rowanclaw pretends to forfeit before attacking Sleekwhisker and her small group. After the fight, Rowanclaw dies and Sleekwhisker flees. This song is meant to show how Sleekwhisker feels like she didn't get any attention. The cat with "pretty ginger fur" that she's talking about is most likely Rowanstar. She feels bitter towards him, thinking that he didn't care about anyone but himself. At the end of the song, when she says, "How does it feel? Wait, no... I don't care!" it's sort of showing how Sleekwhisker has become corrupted and how her faith has crumbled.
